Memorial# 20283957 Libbie Berkey Your bio for Libbie speculates that she would have been alone in farm chores, etc. during John's amputation recovery. I highly doubt that family would have left them to struggle on their own. In 1900, John and his second wife are listed right next to his parents, maybe even living in a dwelling on his father's land. In all likelihood, at the time of his marriage to Libbie and especially being so young, they were also living at the same location and would have had help from his family with chores, etc. Life was hard back then, but family usually pulled together and I cannot see their situation being any different. John's world war I draft card indicates that it was his left hand that was amputated.
Sophia Maria Whitehead I see your source for Sophia Maria's maiden name, but it doesn't say her maiden name is Ruff. Have you seen the birth record for Susanna Ruff, the daughter of Friedrich and Magthalina Wilgard (Willyard), Ruff? Was "Maria Sophia, Valenden Weiskopf’s wife" a witness? Or does it identify her as the sister or daughter of any of the other parties listed?
Berkey Rink Collinsworth Okay this is gonna be a weird way around the facts. I am working on the White Pigeon Township Cemetery, White Pigeon, St. Joseph County, Michigan. I came across an article for a house fire. I try to add as much in information I can about the people I enter into the cemetery. I then try to link family members. I have came across Blanche Collinsworth and her daughter Judith who died in a fire. I have linked these people to a memorial of yours Nathen Berkey. I believe these are relatives to you. I would like to know if there is a memorial for Clara C. Berkey Rink born Aug 17, 1886 in Indiana and died July 1975. she married Gorge Eckles Rink. I am not related, I have emailed you the copies I have made of this search.
Zimpelmann's I would love to hear more about the Zimpelmann line, and what you have discovered. Where did you get the photos from (such as of Alvin), and do you have any records scanned? My great-grandmother was a Zimpelman (maiden name). If I verify if you are still active on the site, perhaps I can email you. Thanks.
