Bio and Links
Bio Photo I retired in 2001 after 31 years as an agent with the U.S. Border Patrol and USINS. I also then worked two years on a contract with DHS. I have been active in cemetery research in Clay County, MO, for a number of years. I have also enjoyed doing research to locate the graves of some of the Medal of Honor recipients whose graves were never marked, or who never received the recognition due them.

Anyone may use any of my photos from Find A Grave for their own historical research. If you need one of my memorials transferred to you, let me know.

Lately, I have been trying to track down the graves of the men of the 4th Iowa Cavalry. I have met some very helpful members, and thank them for everything they have done to help me.

Wilson Cem,
Hi Kent, just wanted to let you know I went to the cemetery last week. Family reunion in Weston. Amanda from the mill site probably told you. A little overgrown but I broke it down some.
Really cool and I got some good pictures of ggggf grave. It is neat that the Watkins family was his neighbors, etc.
I am coming back this fall or next spring. Want to go see the old house site with you guys. Sincerely, Eli

Jessie Hornback transfer
Thank you for your kindness, and all of your good work. Now I can put the duplicate information on one and create a memorial for his wife Glisa. Jenifer

#17152573 Transfer Request
Hello, you have an excellent memorial on my 2nd great uncle Jessie Hornback. His sister Mary Ann was my 2nd great grandmother. I seem to have a duplicate memorial and would like to merge them. Would you be so kind as to transfer your memorial to me as it has such wonderful information on his Union service. Thank you, Jenifer Jones

Thanks Kent. You have really been working hard. Do you have a summary of your presentation that you can share about the Unit?

I served in the Navy in the early 60s and both my daughters served in the Army.

I assume you put in this cemetery, so would you please add that

it is located in Section 8, Twp. 53, R. 30, one-half mile east of Pleasant grove School.

Thanks. Maybe that will help separate it from the other Wilson Cemetery in Clay Co., MO.

Merrill Cowee, Harveyville
Kent, thanks for allowing use of your gravesite photos to others. I have presented your gravestone image of Merrill Cowee, Harveyville Cemetery, on my website dedicated to the memory of the 16th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Civil War regiment. My research shows Merrill enlisted in the 16th OVI for its 90-day service. He then came to Kanasas and served in the 2nd Kansas Cavalry. My site is and go to the Laid To Rest section. Thanks again! And for your service to our nation!
