Bio

I live in Tucson, AZ, which is very far away from my area of interest...mostly Carroll County, IL. I've been working on my family history only since 2009. I picked it up where my late brother left off. He started it ages ago when there were no computers to rely on. Everyone he found was through old family records, interviews, libraries, and cemeteries. He would buy headstones for family members who were buried in Potter's fields or who had only a rudimentary marker. The surnames I'm most closely associated with are White, Woodruff, Rahn, and Miller, all in Illinois but in various counties: Schuyler, Knox, Carroll. My info on the Whites and Woodruffs is sketchy, so I'd really like to find more about them, starting with their graves. My Dad passed away when I was 12 years old, so I never got to ask the questions about his family that have arisen since I began working on genealogy.

I am not in a position, unfortunately, to be able to be a photo volunteer--at least not yet--but my gratitude for these selfless folks is immeasurable. You perform such an invaluable service for this site and your hard work is much appreciated.

***I would also like to thank the caring people who post flowers on my family's memorials. It warms my heart when I find that someone has visited a member of my family on their birthday or angel day...or anytime. If I can't thank each of you individually, I at least want you to know how much I appreciate your thoughtfulness.***

My precious puppy Stewart, 4/29/2003 - 1/10/2014

4/16/2015: Today is a very sad day for my son and his girlfriend who lost their precious, beautiful Maeve. She had a wonderful life and was loved very much. She was very special. I fell in love with her the moment I met her.

My thanks to D. Frederick Birely on this site for teaching me how to link family members on my bio page!
