Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is David Alan Jones, I was born on February 25, 1956 at Mills Memorial Hospital in San Mateo, CA. I am a student of history, including that of my own family and direct decendants; "Without he or she, there would be no me". Cemeteries are excellent resources for genealogy research and also places of quiet reflection for the living.
I have written a book, "US Silent Service Dolphins & Combat Insignia, 1924-1945". I enjoy research into the military history of the United States. I am currently writing a book on my Ellis lineage in a book titled "The Ellis Family".
My son and I are members of the "Son's of the American Revolution" and my daughter is a member of the "Daughter's of the American Revolution". I am also a member of The War of 1812 Society. I serve as a captain on the Klamath River Fire Department. Thanks for looking at my bio.

Apart from dating his stepdaughter and being Really Taken with her. I knew several of those skippers my Dad's classmate Fharles Otto "chuck" Triebel was my godfather, having started at Pensacola with Dad and being in the neighborhood ewhen I was born. He washed out, went to Nrw London, and sank several thousand tons in several war patrols. He had some stories when he came to visit on leave in 1944 on his way to his job at BuOrd, and told us that you really do hear "vlck clock" just before the depth charge explodes. Richard S. Andrews was a Lighter than Air pilot who converted to subs. Both have similar buoyancy and trim issues.I loft the subs to my own classmates, who were better suited to it than I. Most went very far indeed. My present doc is a former sub skipper who swallowed the anvjor and went to med school when he had to swap oats for a desk in SC.

At Midway he was credited with sinking the carrier Soryu, although there has been some later question whether the fish finished the ship, a sitting duck already severely damaged by air attacks, or even actually hit. He was in command of Nautilus both at Midway and as transport of Carlson's Raiders for the Makin Island raid.

I courted his stepdaughter my third summer at the Naval Academy and part of the following year, and had the honor of meeting him.

RE: Abraham Ellis 21312052
Dave, My address is Thank you for all of your help. It is confusing when the family has several people with the same name. The Abraham I am looking for was born to Christopher and Eliza (Carvey) Ellis Sr. Abraham's brother was Isaac Ellis born 4 June 1793 and married Rebecca Copeland. Thanks again Bev.
