Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am the daughter of Richard C Jacobson and Pearl Mumma. I had a sister, Sally Jacobson Ryba and brother David A Jacobson, both deceased. I am researching the ancestors/descendents of my husband's maternal family, Leslie V Clark, grandson of William Clark and Rebecca Hatcher Clark. My husband's paternal grandfather's family Harry Payne and Agnes Forslund, his paternal great-grandfather Samuel Payne emigrated from England, and Fredericka Jacobsen who emigrated from Denmark. Researching my family, paternal g-g-g-grandparents, George Kidd, and his wife, Mary McCaleb; Joseph Dorton from Scott Co, Va and his wife, Mary Letitia Miller; the Jacobson's from Racine, WI, formerly from Uglit Denmark. My maternal great-grandfather, Heinrich Pisarowitz changed to Hettinger upon arrival from Prague Bohemia and his wife, Emma Moser and family, from PA. My maternal grandfather, R J Mumma from PA. Oh, so many, but this site is great for digging up family. I have found many links since finding this site; many questions answered and more developed! Many thanks to all who have contributed to my photo requests; and just thanks to all who volunteer.

Due to winter weather conditions in the area in which I live, I am unable to get out and photograph most requests, be it the cold or snow on the ground. Hoping for Spring for many reasons!

Elihu N. Bragg was born Jan. 3, 1847 in Moultrie County, Illinois, the son of James Bragg and Sarah Hull. He served in the Civil War in Co. H, 18th Illinois. In 1879 he moved to Kearney, Nebraska. After his wife died there, he moved to Okanogan, Washington about 1911.

Re: Murtey, Ida
Thank you for contacting me about Ida.
I believe Ida married James Murtey.
One of their sons was
Oscar Auber (Aubrey) Murtey- find through Rooks County Nebraska/Iowa(?). Oscar had a brother named Ivan and several other siblings.

Oscar married sisters
Winora Workman and then Winona Workman
He had lived in Sacramento and also parts of Oregon.

Oscar had a son, William Murtey with the first sister, then after her death, he married the younger sister and they had my father-in-law,
Edward Raymond Murtey.
The boys were 10 years apart in age.

Edward R. Murtey married 1st wife and had 2 children. Philip Raymond Murtey and a daughter.
His second marriage was to Ileane Gunto, my husband's mother. They had 3 children, my husband Patrick E. Murtey is the middle child.

Murteys were originally Scotch/Irish- Mc Murtey, Mc Murtrey. Sligo, Ireland.

I haven't looked at the Murtey info in years, but I'm sure I have more details.

Hope this helps out,

Cheryl Jones-Murtey

Hi Mary,
As soon as I can I will get back over and rewalk the cemetery and look for your family members again.
I don't mind doing this at all, :~)

Hope it works for you

Re, Sally Jacobson Ryba
Hi Mary
Thank you for your email, sorry for delay in responding, it went into my "spam" folder.

I had a look at Sally's Memorial, I take part in a flowering project in the findagrave forums, mostly we flower memorials when the creator passes away.

I can remove the flower if you wish

Sláinte & regards
