"We are who we are because they were who they were" (unknown). I have been interested in my family history for many years. After retiring from teaching, I have been able to pursue solving the mysteries and following the paths of those who have come before us. Burleighs, Burns, Bakers, Hastings, in Indiana and Cheney, Mason, McWilliams, Cram, and Lindseys in Iowa are our primary families. If I have added one of your family members, I will be happy to transfer it to you on request. |
WE ARE PRESENTLY WORKING ON NEBO MEMORIAL PARK. THERE ARE OVER 200 MARKERS SO FAR WITH NO DEATH DATE AND NO RECORDS TO VERIFY. IF YOU HAVE SOMEONE BURIED IN THIS CEMETERY AND DON'T FIND THE MEMORIAL, PLEASE LET US KNOW THE DEATH DATE AND WE WILL ADD THE PHOTO AND/OR THE MEMORIAL FOR THAT PERSON. IF YOU FIND ONE WE HAVE ADDED THAT THE PERSON IS STILL LIVING (WE HOPE THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN)PLEASE LET US KNOW IMMEDIATELY SO THAT WE CAN DELETE THE MEMORIAL. THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP.
Five of us are in the process of updating our Library records as well as the Find A Grave listings in Morgan County, Indiana. If I request an edit for a memorial you have created, it is because we have found additional/or different information from what was originally recorded. If you are checking on family history, please check the pictures on the memorial as not all edits have been completed yet from our requests. The following cemeteries are completed:
Beech Grove Road (also known as Willow Grove and Robb Hill)
Bethlehem/(Crone in some obituaries)
Brian (also called Bryan-Musgrave, Bryan, Bryant)
St. Martin's Catholic
Greenlawn Cemetery including Mausoleum -as of July 2014-(combined with Old South Park and New South Park in Find a Grave, but they are three separate cemeteries adjacent to each other)
Landers, Landersdale, Friendship/Sawyers Cemetery (listed in Find a Grave as Landers Family Cemetery)
Morgan Family Cemetery
Mt. Gilead (Brown's Crossing)
Mount Olive (Landersdale area)
New Salem Baptist
New South Park-as of September 2014-(See Greenlawn note)
Old Baptist (Morgantown)
Old Mount Olive Fairview(Church)
Old Mount Olive (Off Highway 37North)
Old Mount Olive(off Chapel Lane near Wilbur)
Old South Park-as of August 2014-(see Greenlawn note)
Pearce Family (Wilbur)
Stout (Buffalo Road)
Union (Green Twp.)
Union Christian (Baker Twp.)
Williams-Bradford Cemetery (Green Twp)
Zion Hill Baptist
If you are looking for family in these cemeteries, all remaining stones have been photographed and recorded. Five of us have gone over those locations multiple times and have been unable to find any stones that are not pictured on Find a Grave. Indiana does not permit probing without a permit so most of these have not been probed. We will continue to update this list as we complete the cemeteries.
Please send any edits or transfer requests through the edit tab on the memorial.
Permission is granted for any photographs you want to copy. They are your family and your memories.

Richard Blunk gave me your name and said you and a few others go around clearing, cleaning and documenting cemeteries in Morgan Co. I am in the process of working on Mannan Cemetery (both the Morgan County and Owen County sides) I have photographed about 50% of the Morgan County side to add the pictures to find a grave or create memorials for the ones that don't already have one. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help with other cemeteries.
|Karen Bracey||THANK YOU|
Thank you so much for transferring the memorials of Wm S, Eliza D, J. W. and Nancy E. Edwards to me. And you did it so quickly too!
|Karen Bracey||Transfer Request|
Would you please transfer to me the 4 memorials in New South Park Cemetery on the EDWARDS marker that that includes Wm. S Edwards memorial # 133987637?
My research on my Edwards family roots just led me to information that will allow me to add some detail to these memorials.

i just want to thank you again for your work on this cemetery which the Gray family considered their own. I live in Orlando now closer than PR but still 880 miles away and have never seen the cemetery except through your eyes. Together we have preserved our family history. God bless you.
Thank you for the picture of his headstone
