Bio Photo My home is circa 1784. Its situation is such that it fell in the line of battle during the conflict between the States. When my father died, I was too early at the cemetery for the appointment concerning the necessary arrangements. To pass the time I paid a visit to the antique shop close by. Displayed there was a book which possessed a title that gave me the idea that my home may be mentioned within. Upon opening it, the pages fell directly to a description and photograph of my old place. It was not intended for the purpose, but the volume became a much worn field guide as I sought to visit and photograph other ante-bellum homes in the vicinity. I pursued that objective with interest and vigor. This caused me to notice the old churches en route and I began to photograph them. Behind the churches were cemeteries. Cemeteries that I found to be serene and sublime, full of lore. In turn they led me here and I stayed.

RE: Colonel Samuel Cox
Hi;

He was a very busy man! i am not able to add his son, Samuel Cox Jr. Find A Grave memorial # 19299008

Are you a direct descendent?. I got my info from the Church records on Mount Rest Cemetery and am in the process of adding photos to the sites that do not have them.

Sincerely;

RE: Waller - Prospect Hill
I descend from Benjamin's sister, Dorothy Jemima who married Benjamin Stephens. Evidence of the burial is circumstantial but I feel reliable. According to the Baptist tracts Benjamin went to northeastern KY with several of his brothers. Jane remained at Prospect Hill with her son Absolom and there she died. Benjamin went home at this time, but later returned to his postings in KY where he married Rachel (Last name?). Benjamin stayed with his preachings until he nearly collapsed, then around 1830 went home to Prospect Hill with Rachel. He revived a bit (perhaps he stopped drinking) then died at Prospect Hill. As the accounts state these two died there I think it reasonable to surmise they were buried in that cemetery.
William Edmund organized Buck Creek Church in Shelby county about 1799. He had married Mildred Smith, daughter of Stephen Smith who is so important to the us descendants of Benjamin & Dorothy Waller Stephens. When Mildred died in KY, age 54, Edmund tried to continue at Buck Creek but eventually went back home & was replaced by his son George who served there 40 years.

OOPS!!

Good catch, somehow I thought I was posting a general picture of the Bridges' plot. Good idea, wrong plot. Removed 2 pics.

Sorry!

Denson Alexander Caldwell
Hello,
I am the granddaughter of Denson Alexander Caldwell through his daughter Ruth Emenas Caldwell. I have an picture of Denson when he was older, however, I don't have this one. Could you tell me where you found this one of him in his uniform? I love it and would like to get a copy. His grandson, Harry Winston Hastings is still living at 91 and would really be excited to receive a copy of it. Please let me know where I can get a copy.
Many thanks,
Melva Winston Odell Bartush
