I am an automobile racing historian specializing in the history of that sport in Kansas although I've also dabbled in genealogy for more than 30 years. I am also interested in the history of Cowley County, Kansas and its people.|

|Julie Stevens||Froggatte Family Photo book|
I tried finding a personal email for you Bob but couldn't. I'm not sure if these are any of your ancestors in the photobook thats on Ebay but I wanted to give you the link if you wanted to check it out. Froggatte if a very unique last name and yours was the first one to come upon google & being tied to it in Kansas & Oklahoma. Its titled "Froggatte Family Photo Lot Cabinet Card CDV Harper KS Kansas Yale Ok Oklahoma" The seller says its an excellent set of photos from Grandma Froggatte's old album. heres the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Froggatte-Family-Photo-Lot-Cabinet-Card-CDV-Harper-KS-Kansas-Yale-Ok-Oklahoma-/131270115114?pt=Art_Photo_Images&hash=item1e904eff2a

Well, thank you, regardless! I always like to check...
Thank you for these. Are you related?
I'm curious about your remarks on the memorial for Jesse Garwood, #96510437 -- "This grave was unmarked as late as 1990. The City of Winfield's Park Department has since made a number of concrete grave markers (from city records) for unmarked graves in this cemetery. Those have been placed on the corresponding graves so there may be a marker on this grave by now." I just found his obituary: "Funeral services for Jessie Garwood were held at ten o'clock Tuesday morning from the Morris funeral home. Rev. Harold Isham, minister of the Church of the Nazarene, was in charge. Music during the services included two duets, ‘I Will Sing a Song' and ‘Beautiful River,' by Lois Miller and Vida Isham. Pallbearers were old friends of Mr. Garwood who died at the county farm. Burial was in Highland cemetery. Out-of-town relatives here included his daughter and son, Mrs. Fred Glasgow of Rainbow Bend and Kenneth Garwood, and Mrs. Garwood, of Arkansas City."
[The Winfield Daily Courier, 24 Jun 1937]. Could this be Augustus "Gus" Garwood, who's memorial is #52835646, and who died 22 June 1937, just 2 days before the obituary for Jesse Garwood (dated 24 June 1937)? But if so, why would there be two different burials and two memorials? It certainly is a mystery. Can you find the plot and space number for Augustus? We're related to Augustus Garwood and these Garwoods mentioned in Jesse's obituary are part of the family, but I never heard that he went by the name of "Jesse." Do you have any ideas about this? Thanks.

Wonderful memorial. Did you write the bio ?
If not, could you provide the source ?
I'd like to use it if possible and definitely seek permission and want to give credit.
