|Bonnie Layman Lair||Daniel Bowman Family & Bowman no entries|
There is Bowman Cemetery in Franklin County with no entries, is this the same as the Daniel Bowman Family Cemetery?
|GLENDA EISENHOUR||Anna Elizabeth Heckman #54680768|
My apologies for responding so slowly. Just returned from vacation.
My source for her maiden name of Lenner was from Ancestry World Tree contributed by Wanice Haas. Her source was parish registers of Rothenberg, Hesse, Germany.
As a rule I try not to use any of these postings as my sources, but in this case it seemed a legitimate source. If you have a more accurate source, please let me know.
|Elaine Kinsey||Original Name of Cemetery|
The original name of this cemetery was the John Bowman Family cemetery and was named for Daniel Bowman's father. John Bowman was thought to be the original Bowman settler for Franklin County.
Thank you for contacting me but I don't know where he was previously interred. Sorry I was unable to help you.

|Ed Barnhart||Catherine Brubaker Barnhart|
Thanks for the inquiry about the conflicting birthdates on Catherine Barnhart. The date I used is from “Barnhart Family Record, The Family of Daniel Barnhart II c1765-1802 and Elizabeth Naff c1767-1805” by Josephus Edward Barnhart (1862-1937), copyrighted in 1925, New Carlisle, OH, page 2.
The problem that creates conflicting dates is that someone will speculate on a fact and include a disclaimer and then that fact will be copied without the disclaimer into someone else’s tree, and Ancestry trees are contributed as-is without requiring documentation. That tree is then gleaned for information new to a third researcher and so on until there exist on Ancestry several trees with conflicting or errant information.
Daniel Barnhart II himself is an example. His nation of origin is variously listed as Holland and Germany (and perhaps Switzerland). The town of his origin is listed as Schwarzenau, with at least one misspelling. There are several towns with that name in Germany and Austria, and at least two of them are listed. Schwarzenau (or more correctly Huttental, located on the hillside above Schwarzenau) was the town where the German Baptist Brethren originated under Alexander Mack, and because the early Barnharts are associated with the Brethren sect, he is associated with it and that town when, in fact, there is no documentation to link him definitely there at all. It is an issue to be resolved—that tie between the United States and Canadian Barnharts and their ancestors in Europe.
If this is in error, I will gladly stand corrected. Thanks again for your inquiry.

You asked about the marker for Edwin A Bennett.
It is a military marker; the death date is May 15 1974.
Here is a photo:

My great grandfather was James Opatrny. I believe Anna Opatrny Yetmar is James sister. I have a photo of Anna Opatrny Yetmar.
Please contact me.

Could this be who you have a photograph of? This is the information I have on a Jacob Merkey and I don't see him on FindAGrave.com anywhere. Do you have a higher quality photograph than the one on here you could e-mail me? I would be interested in seeing it. Thank you very much for your time and help.
Birth 30 June 1783 in Pennslvania, USA
Death 20 July 1849 in Bethel, Berks, Pennsylvania, USA
I am not sure if the Jacob Merkey memorial I added is the one you seek. Some markers are extremely hard to read, this was one of them, we could make out the name and that was about all info we could read. I no longer have the shot/pic as I delete them once the pic is added to Find-A-Grave. As I noted on the memorial, this marker is sized like a child's marker and your Jacob was an adult. Tho I guess stranger things have happened in burials. We took pics of all the markers at Salem and added records and pics when needed, so I did not single out this Merkey. (we did the same with Merkeys Cemetery, north of Bethel PA- so your Jacob is not there).
Sorry I could not be of more help to you.
