Hi. I've been researching my Griggs family ancestry for quite some time. I've got one line back to England in 1436. My family emmigrated first to Boston (Roxbury), then into Connecticut, Pennsylvania and then all over. |
Some of the more important ancestral surnames I am researching are: Griggs, Leonhardt (Lanhardt), Cole, Ely, Magill, Bentley, and Brown.
I've tried, for each Find-A-Grave listing I've put up, to at least let you know the relationship of the person to another, usually buried in the same cemetery. I've tried to be as accurate as possible but welcome any additional information you may have. Thanks.

|P. Eadie||Elizabeth Moore|
We just returned from Locustwood Cemetery in Cherry Hill, Nj where we again, were unsuccessful in locating Elizabeth Moore. The office confirmed the grave location but there was no visible gravestone or marker.

|Lillie Oppie||Ely, Child|
I was wondering if you can help me? I don't live out in Pa. and I have a lot of Ely children listed (no first names). I would like to clean up my list and have no idea if there really are that many children.
Do you have any information or can you tell me where I can find the information. I was working off old papers. What is messing me up is there were grave lot numbers.
Will appreciate anything you can give me.
I wanted to express my thanks for the graveyard pictures you have provided to ancestry.com. It is always exciting to see a "real" picture of where the ancestors are buried.

This is for everyone who has stopped by and left a message for Bill: Here is the memorial page for Bill Griggs, #67653721. I would guess that Find a Grave is managing his memorials since he's passed on. It would be nice if you'd stop by his memorial and leave a note. :)
May I use your photos on Find A Grave Memorial# 37894019, for my personal family tree on ancestry.com, with credit to you?
Benjamin is my 9th great grandfather.
Thanks for all your work.

Bill would you like me to transfer Ely account to you so that you can change information? Let me know thank you.
|Charmaine Cave||Joseph Griggs|
Your photo of Joseph and Patience Griggs is beautiful. May I post it on my ancestry tree? They are my 6th great grandparents.
|R Lerch||Louisa Griggs in Graceland|
Louisa is buried in Graceland Cemetery - Chicago Illinois
"If you are searching for someone buried in the Graceland Cemetery, please send in your inquiries by mail, fax (773-525-9091) or email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please provide the name and approximate time of death and any other information that may help assist with the search." I did not see any other Griggs markers, but many Bentley family members.

|R Lerch||Louisa Bentley Griggs|
The cemetery office provided the following information for Louisa: "Louise B. Griggs is buried in "E & F" Lot 5 South 11 ‘ Grave # 3. It appears she was originally buried in Lot 4 in "E & F" , the burial location of Willie Meeker. She was moved to Lot 5 5/01/1914 the same date as "Little Alice Meeker" was moved to the lot."
There is a marker and space next to her that could be her husband. She is buried in what looks like a Bentley and Wrenn family plot. I suggest you contact the cemetery to see if her husband is buried there. Bob Lerch
