Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Ardmore, Carter Co, OK where my husband jokingly says that I thought Noah's Ark had landed.

For thirty plus years I have been involved in genealogy. When my mother died, she left some notes about a few ancestors she had uncovered and hoped I would continue her research. That was the hook-in-the-jaw that changed my life. I only regret that I have missed out on so many years that I could have used. Alas, all those family stories that went in one ear and out the other, and all those family members who took so much information to the grave with them.

I am, however, thankful for the tools that are now available and for FindAGrave, a platform that I have spent many hours gaining from and contributing to.

If I have created a memorial for a member your family, who isn't related to me, and YOU CAN ADD INFORMATION TO THEIR BIO (not just family links), I will be glad to transfer it to you. However, many have received a transfer/transfers & have never added anything. This isn't fair to kin who may come along later who can do so.

An exception to the above are my Bell, Dodson, & Love ancestors and kin, most of whom have numerous descendants. Much of the information contained in their memorials is the result of many years of tedious research, and as new information comes to light, I would like to be able to make those changes. For these memorials please follow FindAGrave guidelines for transfers.

Instructions for ALL REQUESTS for corrections, additional information, or transfers:

1. Go to the memorial page, which has an "Edit" tab located on the upper right side of the memorial.
2. Click on the "Edit" tab, then click on the Suggest a correction or provide additional information link, which opens a message page.
3. Type in your message.

Making a request this way insures that no mistakes are made, because it takes me to the exact memorial.

Thanks for your understanding.

There is a picture of Nellie C. Ridgeway that is linked to you - can you determine or make out the death date for Nellie? Thank you. Mark

Warren S. Reed #120253082
Hi Virginia, I entered on the edit page for Warren the memorial #s for his parents. It did not go thru because already sent an edit previously. So, if it did not go thru, here is the link # for his father William Carson Reed 29134945 and his mother Margaret Elizabeth nee Gracy Reed 79875975. Hope you will be able to link him to his parents. Thank you very much and appreciate the work you do, Carol Pendleton

I think I got what you wanted on them? I did decline an edit for Margaret, but only because you had her father in her mothers spot. ;-) I am not sure why I didn't see your memorials in the first place. I wouldn't have put them on his if I knew yours were there. :-(

Ms. Brown

I am the grandson of Vivian Alene Ridgeway, youngest daughter of George Washington Ridgeway and Sarah E. Campbell of Ardmore OK. My grandmother Vivian married John (Dick) Perry Elliott and had two sons Merle Wayne Elliott and Larry Gordon Elliott - divorced Dick Elliott and moved away - married Hoyt Wertz and they held a hearing in Kansas City (he was being transferred to Germany) and they were adopted by Mr. Wertz without Dick Elliott knowing. Long story short my father never got to see Mr. Elliott and our grandmother wouldn't speak of there family... I'm trying to dig into both the Elliott side and Ridgeway side and see my grandmother had 7 siblings (Anne "Annie", Mary Louise, William L., Henry D. (died infant), Minnie Greasy (died infant), Jasper and Vivian. Annie the oldest married JH Lynch and had 2 children Marie and George and it appears both Marie and George may still be alive. I'm trying to find someone on the Ridgeway side that may still be alive -- do you know anything about either the Ridgeways or John Perry Elliott (father was Percy Lavone Ellliott) ?

I think I have (finally!) finished all the updates. Many thanks for all your help. It makes it so much easier when a cooperative contributor is involved!!
