Couple years ago my anut(Dorthy Edith Todd Hampton) sent me some records about our |
family. So I went on Ancestry.com and started my own research. I've been doing this for a couple years now.
My Memorials are for the Todds only and other family members who have gotten married to a Todd.
I wanted to do this so other Todd family members can find out more information about there love ones.
I will not transfer any of Memorials to any family members or other people doing work for a Todd member or pertaining to be a Todd member so they can get that Memorial.(I have every member of the Todd"s from 2013 to 1300)
Reasons are the following:
(1)Change hole Memorial with false information
(2)Make copy of pictures and then claiming for them selves(even if they did not take those pictures)
(3)Tired of the original persons who took the pictures complaining to me that they took the pictures.
(4)The person who asked for the transfer claims the picture where all ready like that when they got the transfer.
SO DONT BOTHER ASKING LET Find a Grave KNOW ABOUT IT AND WHEN THEY ASK ME TO I'LL DO IT.

|Mid-Atlantic Memorials||Richard Henry Todd|
Hello, you placed Richard Henry Todd's grave in the Franciscan monastery for priests and brothers ... I looked around and could not find his grave ... I am not sure if he entered into vowed religious life, but none of the friars in Washington know of him and told me that you putting his grave in their cemetery must have been done accidentally ... you may want to check where he was buried and change it ...
Please add your picture as i dont get out so much any more notas young any more thank you

|John W. Vermillion||where'd they go?|
Long story short they lived with Abbie temporarily until the farm was repurchased.
|John W. Vermillion||RE: WHERE DID THEY GO|
Abby (lane) Vermillion wife of Elias P. Vermillion is buried @ Bethesda cemetery next to her husband Elias, their son Hezekiah mortgaged the farm to build Vermillion Rd. so folks in the area could get their tobacco to market. He intended to rcoup the cost through a toll gate collection set up by the old homeplace/store. But like so many plans it didn't work out many wanted the road, few wanted to pay toll, since tobacco prices at the time had plummeted and it would cost more to haul to market than they would get for the crop. The farm was sold to settle the debt, later to be bought back by Hezekian's son Albert..It's a long and complicated story given to me by my Father C.N. Vermillion, Albert's son.
A story of "Nightriders" and "ash wars" and a nation in hard times.

On find a grave you can only switch the photos
you add they are under name of submitter.

Todd- Here's the deal. The metal funeral home marker that is normally attached to the Lilly grave has been removed by persons unknown. I spoke by telephone to the caretaker of the cemetery and he knew immediately which grave I was referring to. He gave me specific directions to the plot and I took the photo and uploaded it to Mr. Lilly's memorial. The grave is only 3½ weeks old and a headstone has not yet been installed. Sometime in December, I will return to the cemetery to check on the headstone. If it is in place, I will take a photo and upload it to his memorial. That is the best I can do for now. I have it on my calendar to check no later than December 18th.

I was at Mt. Harmony last week (11/14) and was unable to locate the gravesite. I notice that the date of death is recent and I am surmising that the headstone has not yet been set in place. I saw two fresh burial plots, both without the usual funeral home metal marker, either of which could have been Mr. Lilly's grave site. The church office was closed at the time and I could not seek any additional info. I will call the church office during business hours today to see if they can direct me to the grave. If no luck there, I will simply unclaim your request, wait several weeks to see if a headstone has been set and take a photo at that time. Sorry I couldn't be of further help.

I deleted him. My error. Thank you for pointing that out.
|The Collector||Richard and John Payne|
A Payne researcher, Brooke Payne, in his book "The Paynes of Virginia" (copyright 1937), challenged the authenticity of the reports concerning the birth of Richard (# 64830377) the son of John Payne (1615-1690). He was "extremely doubtful that as early as 1633 there were any English settlements in the Indian district of Chickacoan, from which Northumberland was created a county in 1648". He was also unable to find any public or private records for the location of "Round Tower" and because of the birth of John in 1615 he believes Richard was born later than 1633.
The John Payne (# 88871730) buried on the family farm at "Hard Bargin" in Northumberland Co., VA was the son of John and Ellen (Bailey) Payne. He was married to Lucy Taliaferro and Mrs. Harriet Eustace. This John Payne was not married to Elizabeth Mallory. John and Ellen (Bailey) Payne did have a daughter Nancy b. May 8, 1771 Lancaster Co., VA who married a Charles Douglas in Orange Co., VA Apr 25, 1796.
