Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi,
I have been doing gravestone photos for years and I contribute to a few different websites in Michigan. I have been into genealogy for the past 20 years, mostly just family, then I went into photographing our family headstones, as I was doing that,I was wondering if there was a need for such photos, I found this site, I LOVE it,(to bad it is so ADDICTING!) and I hope to continue doing it for years to come!
PS- Please do not get mad if the photos are mud or grass covered, I'll try to clean off or remove as much dirt and grass as I can to get a good photo. Since I live in Michigan, the weather plays an important part on when I can get out to do the photos. You can't stop nature or time.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, If you are related to any memorial I add, PLEASE ask for it, I would rather see it maintained by family.
I am not related to 99% of the memorials I submit.

If you see that I added flowers to your loved ones, it is just something I like to do.

I DO NOT do recently deceased headstone photos, Please allow at least 6 months for the family to add a marker.

Yep, just checked out the Blalocks buried at Michigan Memorial Park... they go back to North Carolina in the 1700's, so they are related. :-)

If they were in Michigan prior to 1850, then they are distantly related to us. Literally all of the Blalock/Blaylock/Blacklock families who were in America before 1850 trace back to just one immigrant, by the name of Thomas Blacklock, who arrived in Accomack, Virginia, in 1622. The grandsons all went different directions and chose different spellings of the last name. If you saw the name spelled Blalock, then they trace back to the same grandson as us... but probably many generations back. No other Blalock family shows up in America until a Scotsman decided to join the party in the mid 1800's. :-)
