A little about me...
Glasgow High School graduate

Bachelor of Arts Degree
Masters - Folklore
I have always enjoyed oral history at an early age. Wish I had asked more questions now... In 1994 I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, went through surgery and chemo, I was given 3-6 years to live. So after I recovered from the treatments, in 1996 I decided to sell my home of 20 years and go on the road to research my family 1st-hand that were in my family files. I became a "fulltimeRVer" for six years; following the paths of my ancestors was a memorable experience and very humbling at times. I visited so many places I would never have visited otherwise... courthouses, libraries, cemeteries, meeting family and getting to actually stand on family land that my ancestors owned. Well, I am still here, I guess I still have ancestors to find and their stories to tell..... the oral history is out there, I just have to find the descendant that it was passed down to..
In addition to my family lines, I research Allen, Barren, Butler, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe and Warren Counties in KY. (South Central KY)

|Vicki Arnold||Thank You|
Laura, Your research is fantastic and your story even more so!!! I came across this in researching Cassandra Baker & John Winstanley for my new grandson Liam born this year.
I agree with you that so many people do not give credit to the real researchers.
We are deeply in debt to you for making these ancestors come alive.
Gratefully, Vicki Frazer Arnold

|Barbara Davis Brown||Holland family|
Hi Laura, I am the widow of Jerry Brown. He was a grandson of Mary Queen Elizabeth Holland Brown. She was the daughter of John H Holland and Catherine Devine.
I have some pictures from the Holland family on my Ancestry site that I wanted to see if you know them. I am not sure who they are, the pictures just said Grandpa Holland. If you are a member of Ancestry could you please go to my site and check out the pictures. Otherwise I could email them to you if that is better. Thanks
|Raymond B.||Lucretia Henrietta [Tudor] Bellamy|
Laura, may I call upon you to help with just one other memorial: Lucretia Henrietta [Tudor] Bellamy #77112938. She is my 3ggmother. She died in 1851 in Barren County, Kentucky, and we don't know where she is buried. It would mean a lot to me if you could find out where she is buried and if you could find her obituary. Thanks.

Thank you for finding my great-great-granduncle's obituary and burial location. I appreciate you taking the time to do this. Thanks! :)
|Sue Schlueter||Kinslow Cemetery #5|
While searching for the graves of my husband's ancestors, I discovered your description/comments explaining that the Kinslow#5 cemetery was destroyed. I believe my husband's ggggrandfather, Andrew Carpenter Kinslow was buried there. I was hoping to take a picture of his headstone and visit his grave. Can you tell me what happened to those graves ? Were the bodies moved elsewhere? We live in Texas but came the Barren County this week to do some genealogy research. I really appreciate any info you can give me.
|Tom||RE: Mary Ford|
John L and Mary Ford are listed as being in Fairview Cemetery Section J Row 8.
I could not find any listings for Johns father or mother. Fairview would not been opened when either one of them died so Old Brownstown is a good bet I can not verify it. John Sr. had a brief mention in the Seymour Times issue of March 27, 1862 which gave his date of death as March 18, 1862.
If the parents were moved to Fairview at a later date they do not have markers.
