I love family history, so of course I ended up here trying to find, memorialize, and connect my own family members, and also to help others in any way that I can. I am a disabled non-driver, so my ability to contribute is limited but heartfelt. Any memorial in my management that is a closer relative to someone other than myself will be happily transferred if requested. I am also happy to share all photos and other information I have added to these memorials.|
Your Tombstone stands among the rest
neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care.
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I'd exist.
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago,
spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved.
I wonder if you knew,
that someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.

There was a headstone next to it that had Mildred and May on it. Maybe some relations?

I noticed the requests you recently added to the West Boonville cemetery in Cooper County, Missouri. Just wanted to let you know that when I was there last year, I photoed and added everything I could identify. It's possible that someone with a cemetery map can find and photo either deteriorated stones or unmarked graves, but without that, I don't think a photo will be possible.

My pleasure, Lisa. Glad to help.

They are on the same marker, which is difficult to read. Typically, if you are a relative, do your research and send any corrections.
Without readable dates, I made the most usual link.
BUT... Charles may if fact be her son. I did not find the other Ward.
If you are near Topeka, KA., use the library there, as it is one of the best.

Do you have any info on Chapman Ebenezer Wards parents. I can't seem to find anything and if he had siblings.

Thank you for your prompt reply. Guess I will have to keep searching for Margaret; daughter of Henry Staufer. The Land Record above is the only document I currently have as the basis of my search.
