Found an article in New Castle, PA paper from Aug. 25th 193 that says he was cremated (as per his wishes) and his ashes brought to his home in Redding,CT. by his friend Mark Carlin. Funeral services were conducted in the home.

James Francis Archibald
Hi Richard,
I saw the bio that you added to James Francis Archibald Find A Grave #133457945 on familysearch.com. On that site, James is married to Helen G. Holcombe b. 1892, dau of Henry Woodburn and Adelia Hawkins. I don't think that she is the wife of your James Francis Archibald. My Helen G. is married about 1918 to a William Kirby. By 1921, they have their first daughter, Edith G. Kirby. Sorry for contacting you here, couldn't find you elsewhere. Diane

Richard,

Thanks for the picture but it is really blurry. Can you retake it?

Also can you do others in the list?

Dear Richard,
Thank you for photographing this headstone. Your work is a great help to those of us who live at a distance and cannot easily travel to these old cemeteries.

Do you have a personal interest in the Britton and or Shann lines? If so, would you like to collaborate on the research? Would you be interested in making a "rubbing" of the stone in an attempt to discover what else was written on it before the elements completely erase the marker? I've found that using shaving cream on the stone to fill in the recesses made by the characters sometimes makes the difference in readability.

Thanks once again,
Michele Britton Camera

Thank You!
Richard,

Thank you so much for the detailed information on my Great Grandfather, Francis Herbert Kellar; it means so much to learn about my families history.

Have you found any pictures or documents regarding his Knickerbocker Photos shop in NYC? I know he photographed the constructing of the Chrysler Building but I have yet to find any of his photos...
