Several of my family members and other volunteers are working toward posting pictures of all the tombstones in Etowah Co., Alabama. Please fill free to copy these pictures and use them for your personal research and other family history related projects. Our goal is to make it easier for you to find the necessary records you need when compiling your family histories.
Some additional information has been added from family records and other sources, such as "Public Member Trees" on, and may need to be further verified before use.

James Wiliam Boyd
I have added his middle name, but as for his nickname, I found out they called him JW, at which I have added. His son James Howard was called "Jimmy".

I transferred your cousins memorials to you before I checked my edit request. You will now have to make those edits, links, etc., to their memorials. Sorry.

James Sims at Liberty in Painter
THANKS FOR THE INFO. Do you happen to know more about this man and his family. My great grandmother was a Sims from the Geraldine area. Trying to see if connected.

JOHNNY, Hold on to the Williams family. The last few I put in, I may have them in the wrong cemetery. My camera must have mislabel some pics and placed them out of order. I have finished with Union but caught the last pic as being one that I remembered from Liberty at Painter. I've got to go to Boaz today and will look again. I took the pics from Union in order. Peggy, James, Neal, George, Sarah, Dewey, Lola, Peggy, Buie, and Hannah Williams are the ones in question. They could be at Union, Liberty at Painter or Liberty at Rodentown. Will get back with this...SORRY.

Fiquett, Williams, Massey, Hale
Hi Johnny, we are about to get this all figured out after all. The first child Lee Massey had was a girl with Rufus Hale, the 2nd child she had was a son, he was still born and the son of John William Williams and she died also in child birth.
I believe with all these deaths in 1910 and 1912, there must have been some kind of epidemic in Alabama. I'm going to check this out. Talk later,

You sent me info from the Alabama Death & Burials Index for her, but I already had that information posted in her bio. Thanks anyway.
