Any photos, bios and or other information that I have entered is avaialble for free use - no paid only websites. I would perfer that credit is given, but I put those materials and images here to be both saved for the future and to be used.
The web site offers date calculations for many of those little genealogical problems and more.
SO much of what is placed on Find A Grave is searchable, but in order to assist others in their research, I also use

Disasters strike us all, and it helps to put family moves into context when they abruptly move, relocate or - frankly - just disappear!

I also note to Find A Grave when I can find an applicable memorial.

Please take a look, it's an interesting site.
In the eastern United States you can often "discover" old cemeteries by the daffodils.

Daffodils are not a feast for deer, they multiply and spread on their own and were often the flower of choice to plant at gravesites.

And I love the sunny, bright daffodil, reminding me the long winter will soon be over and I can get out again to seek and document ancestors - both my own and for others living too distant to be there in person.

If I have "planted" a daffodil on a memorial, it is one which I have directly touched or made an addition.

My Find A Grave 'anniversary' date is 12 June 2007

Harrod Family @ Mt Muncie
Hi Gaye!

I got your photo requests up for Benjamin, Frances, Mildred, Sarah, Moses, Betty, and Ida. There was just the main family headstone no individual ones.

I called the cemetery to confirm since there was just the one headstone and there were 3 others buried on that plot: Theo, Fred W, and Mildred's sibling Frances Ballard.

There wasn't a Grover on the plot just the 10 family members: Theo, Sarah, Benjamin, Frances, Mildred, Moses, Frances Ballard, Betty Ruth, Fred W. and Ida.

I will have the cemetery try to locate Grover. They did tell me that there were alot of Harrod's buried in Section 24. I only saw the one plot for Herbert D. I will let you know what they find out.

I also got your other requests up for Evelyn Ruth, Herbert D, and Margaret. They are buried in another section with Mary L, Marion L, Herbert E, and Alice Starnes.

I added memorials for Theo, Mary L, and Marion L. If you would like a transfer, please let me know and I would be happy to do it.

Best Regards
Shannon B

Henry's 1935 dc lists his mother as Thena Johnson.

George and Taylor House move out to California. The CA Death Index lists George's father as Samuel House and no mention of his mother; Taylor's mother's maiden name is listed as Johnson. U.S. Social Security Applications & Claims lists Taylor's mother as "Parentha Johnson"

George was living in Imperial Co., CA in 1910. An Elmer House, born ca 1881, died in that county 7 Feb 1909. His brother? This Elmer House's body, according to the Imperial Valley Press, was sent to London, KY for interment. Taylor named is 1st born son Elmer, after his deceased brother?

Son Samuel House is living with his sister Ida in 1900.

Ida wife 3/1881 19 md 0-0 KYKYKY
Samuel HOUSE bro-in-law 3/1872 28 md 1yr KYKYKY

Margaret, Jalie and John H. all end up in the Washington Co., IN area. There is a Samuel House (died 1926) who is buried in the adjoining county (Lawrence) that is the right age to be their brother but I don't have any proof one way or the other about if this is him or not.

Ollie's 1943 dc lists her mother as "Pilindia"

Daughter Sarah Elizabeth House Van Winklie's 1921 obit lists she was the d/o "Samuel and Parthena House" and that she has "four sisters and five brothers to mourn her loss". The sisters would be Margaret, Jalie, Ollie & Ida and the five brothers would be Henry, George, John, Taylor and by default Samuel IF the Elmer House that died in CA was Sam & Thena's.

Zenith (step sister) born to Mary Tharp prior to marriage to Ben Kincaid. I am pretty sure her obituary states she was a Daniels. She married a Dougherty. (Daugherty was the common name in Lee County, but obit has Dougherty) If you find my ancestry files, you will find the obituaries posted for the ones I have.

You can find most of the family on Ben & Mary are not listed there. You can also look up and select Kentucky and Louisville and find the obituary for Dixie Lee Schmitt. Dixie was one of Jack's sisters. She just passed on Dec. 10 and was buried yesterday. I will be able to send more information later. One of the girls listed in the obituary was Mary's daughter prior to marrying Ben. Another daughter, Marsha June Kincaid died as a child. She is buried in the Kincaid-Cable Cemetery in Lee County, KY.

I found a grave headstone for Mary Howe but nothing for Issac. There is only one stone on that lot and the caretaker said it appeared there were others buried in that plot. If you want a picture of Mary's Please advise.
