Bio Photo To the contributor(s) who leave just enough flowers on a memorial page so mine no longer show, grow up. And yes, I do know who you are.

Tombstone tourist, taphophile, cemetery enthusiast, genealogist, graver. I am a United States Army Female Veteran born in Germany to an English-German-Danish-Irish-Czechoslovakian-American father and German mother. Tenth great-granddaughter of George Soule, who arrived in this country aboard the Mayflower. I am researching the families of my fourth great-grandfathers, Henry George Lossing and Noah Jacob Huss.

Please stop by my mom's page, Ingrid Koss, to leave a flower, she loved the color purple. Mom is the only person listed on Findagrave with the last/maiden name of Bläwert.

Each generation of my family has had a member who served in the military. Having served in the military myself, I have a soft spot for all who did as well. Please leave a note for Captain Neil Stanley Bynum. I wore his MIA bracelet until it broke into pieces. If you manage a veteran's memorial page please remember to thank him/her.

CHECK YOUR EDITS TAB ON YOUR PROFILE PAGE! If you find any errors with the memorials I manage, please don't hesitate to send a SAC. Corrections left on my contributor page will not be acknowledged and will be deleted.

If YOU would like me to add an obituary, then YOU must edit the obituary and exclude the names of living family. Obituaries submitted with names of living individuals will be deleted. I will not post cut and paste obituaries from newspaper obits or funeral home websites without permission of the author. Obits added to the flower section will be reported to Admin for removal. I will ask you first to remove any death certificate you post to a memorial I create. If you will not remove the DC, I will have Admin do so.

I was comparing interments at Boston Ave Methodist Church Columbarium to Billion Graves and noticed one missing so I added it. I found in researching the person in Ancestry that you had already entered it at another cemetery. I will be glad to delete mine and notify the person who added the wife if the two you added are indeed where the couple are buried, and the crypts are just "markers".
I added: Elden G Birks 163376099 (with wife by someone else) You have Elden George Birks #139567058 (plus wife etc) at Graceland Memorial Park.

RE: Charles Earl Schaeffer
Okay, I was reading another obituary.

Charles Earl Schaeffer passed away at his Tulsa residence on January 18, 2015. He was born March 29, 1938 in Fremont, Ind. to Gilbert and Helen (Hellinger) Schaeffer. Charles grew up in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School in 1957. He served his country honorably in the U. S. Army during the Berlin Crisis of 1961. He married Mary Jean Mundy on October 15, 1960 in Fremont. Charles was retired from Samson Resources where he worked in data processing. He and his wife have operated The Apple Tree, Inc. since 2006.
Charles enjoyed woodworking and was always doing something with his hands. He enjoyed antique cars and was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America. He was a member of Millennium Masonic Lodge #543 and the Akdar Shrine in Tulsa.
Charles loved his family dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jeannette Wilcox. He is survived by: his wife of 54 years, Mary Jean Schaeffer; son, Christopher Schaeffer and his wife, Sandra; daughter, Judith Carroll and her husband, Tommy; five grandchildren, Nikki, Ashley, Thomas, Ryan, Emily; and one great-grandchild, Christopher; sisters, Delores Vice and her husband, Kenneth, Carolyn Coney and her husband, Roger; and his brother, Robert Schaeffer and his wife, Amielou.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be directed to: Saint Francis Hospice; or the Akdar Shriner's Transportation Fund. Arrangements have been entrusted to Christopher W. Teel of Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service in Tulsa. A visitation celebrating Charles' life is scheduled from 2:00 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service at Memorial Park, 5757 S. Memorial Drive Tulsa, OK 74145; Tele: 918-523-5757.

From the wording of this obit, especially the part about celebrating his life, made me think he had been cremated, since it did not list a cemetery by name?

Samuel Benfer in McPherson
Following up on my previous message, I note that Samuel (?-1872), Hattie (1872-1973) & Charles Benfer (1846-1900) are all buried in Sec. 1, Lot 477. In the 1870 census Charles and his wife Ella had a son Samuel, one month old. Since there is no birth date on Samuel's memorial it seems possible that he was the son of Charles which would make him the grandson of Harriet. However, he is linked to Harriet as a spouse. Any thoughts on this?

John R. Bellows
I'm hoping for more information about John Bellows' children and I'm hoping that since you were able to connect John, bur. Sandusky Co. OH, with his wife Chloe, who was bur. in Seneca Falls NY, you have access to some information that I don't have. If that's the case I'll gladly give more details about what I'm looking for.

Benfers in McPherson
Regarding your memorials for Samuel Benfer, Charles W Benfer, Emma (Benfer) Miller & George Michael Benfer, all buried in McPherson Cemetery, here is a genealogical mystery. On Oct 15, 1845 Harriet Bowersox of Middleburg, Snyder Co. PA married Samuel Benfer of New Berlin, Union Co. PA. Union County court records prove that Samuel died in 1856, that Samuel and Harriet had children Charles, Isabella, Emma and George and finally that Isabella died in 1860. She and her father are buried in New Berlin Cemetery. Samuel and Harriet Benfer appear together only in the 1850 census. Harriet (Bowersox) Benfer in McPherson Cemetery is linked to Samuel Benfer in the same cemetery and George Michael and Emma are linked to them as their parents. Emma's death record indicates that she was born in New Berlin and that her parents were Samuel Benfer and Harriet Bowersox. So, if Harriet in McPherson is the same Harriet who lived in New Berlin then the Samuel in McPherson can not be her husband. One final note. The stone for Harriet in McPherson indicates her year of birth as 1826 but the father of the New Berlin Harriet died in 1822. Any thoughts?

Nancy Hawk
Thank you for adding this memorial. Nancy Hawk was my grandmother's sister and my mother's aunt. I recently added a family picture of her and her husband. I don't know if you want to add that her nickname (which she went by all her life) was Bessie. Bessie was born in Missouri.
