Bio and Links
Bio Photo My husband is truly sorry now that he harped about me learning the computer! Thank goodness he did, as I've been able to find relatives on all sides of my family as well as my husbands going back many generations. Have found many relatives still living who have provided photos of people I never met. Also discovered that, on both sides, farming was their livelyhood. Now I know why I and my siblings "love the earth".

RE: Anna Budka Kun & Rev. Francis Kun
Dave transferred Anna to you but he had already transferred her husband to another member who'd requested it previously. Apparently she had some information to add to his bio. You could contact her if you'd like. Good luck!

You're very welcome...if you'd like these memorials transferred to you just let us know. We were merely visiting the cemetery the day we took photos and have no ties to the families there.

RE: Malinda Allen
I received this message from Annalyn Allen in August 2014...do you know her?....I dabble in genealogy infrequently!...here's the message.....Susie was my great-great-grandmother's sister. My great-great-grandmother was the oldest in the family...her name was Nancy Elizabeth Allen Lovett....

Hi Kim!

Yay! I am so excited to finally find another Allen relative! Are we cousins? I also correspond with Wilma Allen of Enterprise, Ms area. Her husband's grandfather lived on my pop's "George Washington Allen" farm. His name was "William Edward Allen." She & I have been unsuccessful in locating any other of our Allen relatives. Susan Allen (my daddy's gma) was the daughter of Richard C(Coleman?) Allen and Malinda Whittle. I believe his father was a Jacob Allen and his father was Jesse Allen or vise versa. Malinda connects to the Lovett line. I do not recognize the other names you listed. The "old spinsters" Mitt, Docia, Beuna Vista... are my great grandmother (Susan Allen's) sisters. We know little about them. Daddy has Alzhiemers now & remembers nothing but the farm. We should share info. I am from Mississippi, but live in California now. I am a teacher out here. School just started & I'm CRAZY busy, but I'll email you as soon as I have my first break. Thank you SO much for contacting me! Please keep in touch.

God Bless,

Annalyn Allen

RE: Emma D. McChesney
Hum------ Ancestry as you most likely know has her with that maiden name but lists a father under a different name maybe an orphaned child or out of wed lock or some one just got desperate and added parents to crash a brick wall witch happens all to much. Fathers name looks a little made up. Jarrott

RE: McChesney Family
Vergie,

Paul W. Prindle published "THE McCHESNEY FAMILY OF RENSSELAER COUNTY, NEW YORK". This genealogy book is no longer available in print. It is a large book, divided into 3 parts. I did my research in this book at the DAR Library in Washington, DC.

WorldCat.com is an on-line computer interactive digital library. Basically, it interconnects to most of the major library systems in the U.S. You do not have to become a member to join, but you must register your email address. Then you enter your zip code and do a search on the McChesney Genealogy Book. The results will tell you what library closest to your home has this book. I would call the library to make sure it truly is there before making the trip.

ancestry.com also has this book in their data base. Of course, each page loads individually and depending upon your internet speed, might be slow loading. I would recommend reading the first few introduction pages which describes the tenant farmers on Steven Van Rensselaer's estate to get an idea of Hugh McChesney and his brother's life in America. Hugh McChesney is a documented Patriot in the Revolutionary War and is in the DAR & SAR data base. If you are able to document your lineage back to Hugh & are interested in becoming a member of DAR in you home State, I might be able to help you as I assist the Lineage Chairmen for DAR for the State of New York. I would need your email address.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FINDING THE BOOK ON ANCESTRY:

At your home page click the SEARCH tab on your top black bar; click ALL COLLECTIONS; on the lower right hand side click VIEW ALL IN CARD CATALOG; on the upper left type in "THE MCCHESNEY FAMILY"; in the results click BROWSE THIS COLLECTION; on the left it lists the Table of Contents for this book.

There might be an easier way to find the card catalog, but that's how I do it. Happy researching. -susan

RE: McChesney Family
Hello Cousin,

I descend from Hugh McChesney, through his son John H. I see your tree on ancestry. Are you aware that there is a genealogy book for McChesney? World cat, etc.

this is the link on ancestry, I hope it works through Find A Grave: Important to note, much of info in book is not referenced to documents, but a good place to start.

Vergie - you have found out more than I have, that is for sure. I will check and see this morning if I can find anything else on Gaines. No, I don't have any info on Hugh either but, I will check on that too. I do hope you and your family have a great Christmas! :) - Necy

RE: Foster & Gaines Kelly
I have been looking for a long time myself for info on Foster and Gaines Kelly and have not found anything, not even in family stories. I know that one of them died in infancy, but which one is up to debate. They both have a marker at Hopewell Cemetery, but no death dates are provided. I will let you know if and when I do find out anything else on them, Vergie.
