Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have now been back in Colorado for a couple of years but I am still dreaming of waterways, bridges, moss covered trees, and yes the rain. I don't know if I will ever get use to the snow but I am told we need the snow for the water levels during the summer. I am unsure of the numbers but I believe rain works better and it doesn't require a shovel.

I have been lucky enough to connect with family and friends. While in Oregon I had some great Colorado volunteers that helped me with my family's stones and have had the pleasure of meeting and working with them in Colorado and meeting new ones along the way.

I have had quite a couple of years, babies born; friends & family that have passed; reconnected with friends from high school; getting to know my granddaughter, and I have had two surgeries.

I have been working a number of cemeteries trying to help family find family and over the last three years have heard some of the saddest and happiest stories from family that were so happy I helped them locate a missing loved one. I still get surprised when someone mentions the number of memorials I have loaded or the number of photo requests I have completed. I do this for you and the numbers mean nothing. If I was somehow able to help one of you during the day find an aunt, uncle, sibling, grandparent, parent, or childhood friend – it is you that has given me a reason to smile that day and continue on with what I do.

Also, I believe in transferring photos to family no matter how many generations removed. I believe the four generation rule is used for hoarders that are interested in numbers and just want to keep your family. One of my pet peeves is people taking over or starting memorials that do not know how or have any intention of maintaining the site. I feel the family belongs to the family but should be with a family member that is going to insure that links and edits are going to be taken care of in a timely manner.

I do not transfer to non family – I volunteer my time for the family and that is where I want them to end up. I am impressed and grateful that there are people who take time to work on groups and any editing you require or photos you need – I am your girl but NO I don't transfer to non family.

Thank you so much for these pictures, especially the one with the names in locations of unmarked graves. Do you have a map of the plots from the cemetery giving plot location numbers??? Just confirming how we know they are there.

Appreciate all you do. Do you mind if I put your pictures on my public Ancestry tree, giving you full credit of course?

I didn't run across this surname until yesterday. You must have me confused with someone else. In fact when I first ran across the name, I thought it was spelled incorrectly and should be Labrand, instead of Lybrand.

I did find a memorial later for his wife, Lavina (Billigmeier) Lybrand, stating that she had been cremated and location of her ashes were unknown. You did that memorial as well. Fairmont is a huge cemetery. Is it possible her ashes were buried on top of Civil's? It's a common practice around here. In the local national cemetery, they bury as many as four family members on top of each other. The son, Civil II, died first, in 1962. What if they were all buried in the same grave, most certainly not an unheard of practice. My grandmother and her youngest child are buried in the same grave, and that was in 1935 and 1936, two months apart.

Also, if the gravesite is unmarked, Find A Grave allows you to put a cross or something on top of the gravesite and take a photo of that. I did that once for an unmarked grave here in a local cemetery. Look at Find A Grave FAQs. They explain the prescribed process very well.

Your antagonism is uncalled for.

Very Sincerely,
Sylvia M. Hertel

David Bowman Jennings
Hi VDR, Thanks for your help on David Bowman Jennings (Find A Grave Memorial# 44378098) and for checking for him so thoroughly at Arvada Cemetery and elsewhere. Your msg. to me "I have bad news on David that I don’t understand. The obituary clearly says he is in the Arvada cemetery but the office checked several records and cannot find a record of him. I believe that he is next to his wife in an unmarked grave - even though the cemetery does not show him buried there. I have checked three other surrounding cemeteries and he is not at those. I am going to load the area shot that is on Daphne’s page but I feel more research needs to be made." Can you tell me the other cemeteries you checked so I can add them to my research log? Thanks very much! Melanie Tucker

Find A Grave Request
THANK YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH. I am amazed at your knowledge and persistence. I have no knowledge of the last name Crow. However, as you know the dates sure match. I have been unable to contact my relative for information on the burials. I plan to continue my efforts and now I have another mystery of Crow vs. Koke to solve. Shirley and Kathryne were cousins of mine and from a very small family so the resources of first-hand information is severely restricted.

Again, thank you for your time and dedication.
