Check out Carl Braatz in Cedar Hill cemetery in Suitland, Md - F.A.G. ID # 96241199 - you will like this fellow a lot...leave some flowers too!
Note: any reference to the city of Washington versus the county of Washington, both of which were used in the early days of the District of Columbia (D.C.) will be omitted on my memorials or any requests to alter them since the residence of the deceased and/or the actual place of death would also have to be known and before 1850 or so. The city was divided into several parts when drawn up and laid out in the 1790s but these distinctions were dropped long before 1850. There is a need for some memorials of an early date to have this but for most others it is not accurate any longer. All are just Washington, D.C.

Hi! In my wanderings I came across your virtual cemetery for sitting stones, and want to share one which is special to me, since it's right next to my mother's grave, and the woman buried there was a friend of hers from church. Mertice Bontrager Find A Grave# 111690915. My dad likes it since he has a bad knee. You are welcome to add it to your cemetery, if you like.I enjoy looking at the stones here.

Oh,Fred! Thank you so very much for taking and posting the pictures of my grandfather's marker and my aunt's marker!!! Without you I would not have discovered that my grandfather's marker was buried.
God Bless You. Candy

Thank you so much for adding my Grandmother Sarah Elizabeth and Grandfather Henry H Cook to the Cedar Hill web site. I could not find my dad Richard H Cook listed on the web site, but I have been to his grave many times as a child but have not been back in a very long time. I added him and I wish I could get a picture of his tomb stone, there are several members of the family buried at Cedar Hill some without head stones but my mother had his placed. Just wondering if you could check for me next time you are in the cemetery and take a picture. I would be so grateful, I do not live in the area and haven't been back in many years. Thank you again for offering this service to all of us who cannot do this in person. Ellen Cook Sims
