RE: Cora Bennett Friend
Hi Shirley,

Thank you so much for your extra effort in looking for Cora. George was her husband and Louise was probably George's second wife. Cora died several years before George did. I appreciate your kindness. Have a lovely day.

Headstone of Thaddeus Koechle
Hi! I am coauthoring a book & one of the chapters will be about Thaddeus Koechle & his descendants. Can I have permission to use your photos of headstones in the book? Thank you, Dana Leeds

Cora Bennett Friend
Find A Grave Memorial # 125734759

Hi Shirley,

I received your message about Cora having no headstone. Would you be able to photograph the place she is buried, even though it doesn't have a headstone?

She is my 1st cousin 4x removed and it would mean a lot to me. Unfortunately I have other Bennett family members who were also buried without headstones, but the photos of the places where they are buried are meaningful to me.

Thank you so much,

RE: Riehl/Koss
You are welcome. I looked for the children as well but couldn't find them. I don't know if you are familiar with Calvary cemetery so I'll let you know that sections 27, 28, 30 (plus a few more) are a hopeless mess. At least half of the burials there never had headstones and the ones that did suffered extensive theft and vandalism years ago. Most of the graves are of children, sad to say. And who could afford markers on top of burial costs in those days if you had to pay for doctors and funerals for four children in five years? Anyway, I checked the interment records, found the plots and will enter them via the edit button. Some of the remaining stones are so weathered as to be unreadable, but another volunteer with younger eyes may find them for you if you let the requests stand. Records also revealed cause of death if you are interested. Albert Sr. and Leo died of tuberculosis; Carl, acute gastroenteritis; Delores and Albert Jr. died of cholera. Elizabeth had heart disease and Charles cause of death was listed as "pending".

Gamaliel Stanford
Thank you for the info.

Gamaliel is my great, great, great grandfather.
Correct spelling is Gamaliel. Gamaliel and Giles father was Joshua Stanford from Duxbury, Mass.
I believe Gamaliel actually died in Teepleville.
I believe the North Richmond and Gray Hill Cemetery are the same.

Gamaliel and Giles are known to be son's of Joshua
from DNA tests that I had run on several direct descendants from both Gamaliel and Giles son's including me. Some were a perfect match's while a couple were 36 out of 37. Conclusive proof.

A great deal of the original info on the family came from Howard Jack Stanford. He wrote a small book on the his side of the family and his wife's family. I know Jack and was able to obtain a copy many years ago. Jack is in his 90's and blind and lives in California.

Thanks again.

Lauren Avory Harkness
Thanks for the information. I would like copies of the obituary. He was a Civil War soldier and died at the Home for Disabled Veterans in Dayton, OH. The reason he may have been listed as single is because his family stayed in Montana when he was a patient in the hospital...rather sad.
