Susan Young- Southfield MI
Hello,

Thank you for the correction and additions to Susan Young's memorial. Ironically I just happened to be near that cemetery this morning, and in better light I could see that the age was "45" not "15." Your census research is greatly appreciated.

Susan is not kin to me, so if she is part of your family line I am always happy to transfer the memorial.

Thanks again,

Eddie

Re: Gideon Sheldon
W.W. --
Thank you for your note. I can make a note stating specifically that the surname is spelled with an "e" on the gravestone, but Gideon is known by use of the spelling Sheldon rather than Shelden in all of my referenced sources, as well as in the 1840 and 1850 U.S. Census. Knowing that gravestones are notorious for inaccuracy or only as accurate as the individual that ordered it, I didn't pursue further explanation on his memorial.

My husband is a direct descendent of Gideon and his son, Nathan Foster Sheldon through Almon Nathan Shelden, who changed the surname spelling to "e". My mother-in-law was very specific to the surname spelling as Shelden, so I suspect variations were occurring during her generation and amongst the Gideon/Nathan/Almon Nathan children....

I'm always trying to contact with someone who is related to the Nathan Foster Sheldon branch. Are you, by chance, related?

RE: John Gibson
By the way, I'm curious about your username - you aren't a descendant of the early colonial New England Sheldon family by any chance, are you?

RE: John Gibson
Thank you for asking. Yes, that's fine with me as long as you give me credit as the photographer and FindAGrave credit as the source; I suggest you include that I gave you permission so people will know you didn't just take them.

Glad you like the photos,
Liz

tombstone photos of stephens-ryle cemetery
Hello, My name is Tracy Martinez and I am a descendent of the Stephens-Ryle family. I am writing to ask your permission to use your photos from findagrave.com on my Ancestry.com tree. I live in AZ and have been able to visit the Boone co KY area but I have not yet been able to visit all of my family's burial sites. I can't tell you how much it has meant to be able to see all the graves you have documented. Thank you for all your work. Sincerely, Tracy

Mathias Watt & Sarah Jane Tuttle Watt
Just curious, how on earth did you acquire photos of Mathias and Sarah? I have the originals in the old family photo album (they are my gr. gr. grandparents).

Also, Mathias' name is spelled with one "t" and he has a second initial J. probably for his father John
(Mathias H.J. Watt) and he usually went by Mat.

Vicky, Thank you so much for the transfer, I really do appreciate it. I wish I could go to that cemetery, but as I live in Texas, that would be a little hard to do. Your pictures are the only way I got to see the stones and I really appreciate you taking the time to take them. Thanks again. Jo
