Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing family research for over 25 years. My families are Orbin, Collins, Tiller, Miles, Smith, Swallow, Hill, Schunk, Keown, Grable, Haney, Hines, Howard, Riley, Lee, Leatherman. I am also doing my husbands side Neeson, Brooks, Beamer, Herring/Herron, Carman, Egglestone, Vincent, Sanders, and so many others. I was born in Macon, Missouri and lived there till I was 10. Then we moved to Columbia and then moved to Bevier when I was 13. I have several family members still in Macon, Bevier, Kaseyville and all over Macon County. I love to do family research because it makes history more real, that historical events happened to family members who lived through these events. It makes history come alive.

Wow! What a surprise when I revisited my aunt's page and found a photo of her grave. She was my mother, Mildred's, sister. I never knew the location in Oakland Cemetery. Can you describe where it's at? It's not on the cemetery map. Are you related? Thank you!

Would like to ask your permission to use the photo you took(with proper credit) for Find A Grave Memorial# 93499506. I am working on a WWII project and this veteran was part of a unit I am studying, I hope you do not mind. Thanks again and please let me know if OK, Cheers!

Oh Penny, I am sorry to hear that!!!
I will be going up there and I will take the best pics that I can and make sure you get copies! It is rough terrain, I must admit but once I get over the barb wire it is free sailing! I will think of you when I get there!!!

Hello Penny!
There were several stones at McCanne Burying Ground that are not listed on the "cemetery list" Also I have DAR research papers that state of other burials there lso not on that list. I have let Muth Matsen and Gail Shoush know of this.
By the time I got to where I found their markers, behind Thomas Kings' It was starting to get dusk as you can see from Elizabeths marker. I was by myself and knew I had a ravine to go thru before I got back to the road, so yes I will be going back and start from the east side of the cemetery this time also bring foil and a soft brush! and a probe! and earlier!
Have you been to this cemetery?
Hope to hear back from you (smile)
