Bio and Links
Bio Photo We are ardent genealogists and started cemetery picture taking visits when we were on our ATVs and found an old cemetery at Gilmore, Idaho. It was not on find-a-grave, we added it, and were hooked. We live in the upper Snake River Valley of Idaho and, with the help of others, are working to preserve graves and cemeteries for future generations and also providing a way for people to visit their ancestors or friends even though they can't visit the graves in person.

As the great-grandson of John Rawlston Poole (1829-1894), one of the settlers of "Poole's Island", now Menan, Jefferson, Idaho I have a great interest in preserving family history for future generations.

As the great-granddaughter of Joseph Johannsen (Johnson) (1852-1931) one of the early settlers of Teton Valley, Idaho I also have a great interest in preserving family history for future generations.

Since we are supporters of the Boy Scouts of America we are advising young men on how to carry out an Eagle Scout service project where they take headstone pictures for find-a-grave to preserve genealogical data for the present and future generations.

Unfortunately, we can make errors, so if you find an error, or if you have additional information on anyone we've entered into find-a-grave, please contact us so we can make necessary changes.

P.S. You are welcome to use any pictures I have taken for non-profit use. If they find a place in your family history I will be honored.

Van Winkle
Hello, I fulfilled a photo request for Van Winkle today in the Elliot Cemetery. I accdentally uploaded the incorrect photo from the cemetery so the posted GPS coords are actualy for a different plot and not Van Winkle (William).

While I was there, I photographed all the Van Winkles I could find. Once I got back to the internet, I created any Van Winkle that was not already on this site. So there are a few more Van Winkles listed, in the event they are your relatives.

RE: Sponsoring Richard (Dick) Moll
Yes you may if you want to transfer Dick's to us. We have been friends with Dick since we met him in the 1980's. We have snowshoed with him every winter up until his death. I have the last pic. of him & his Christmas tree 12-31-2001.We purchased Dick's 1st. Gilmore cabin in 1997 & have since remodeled it, he was very excited that we preserved it for history. I have taken care of the Gilmore Cemetery since 1999. I tryed to personalize it with all the signs & information signs to try to prevent vandalism, So far it's worked. I continue to improve the Cemetery where ever I can. Stop by some time when I'm in Gilmore & I'll give you a tour. We have been around Gilmore for about 30 yrs. & with Dick's help have a lot of knowledge of the history of the townsite, & the old town of Horseshoe on the hill. Thanks again Dan L. X.D.L.X

Gilmore Cemetery correction
I am writing to see if you would please make a correction to one of the records you submitted to find a grave for the Gilmore Cemetery. The number is #21580216. You have the person listed as Richard (Dick) Allen. It should be Richard(Dick) Allen MOLL. If you look at the pictures of the grave that you took, you can see his last name MOLL listed at the top of the headstone. Thanks so much for your help!!

Hello, Thank you for finding Lena's grave (again). I was there in 1993 and took a photo of it, but when I went back in 2004 I couldn't find it. Again thank you for cleaning the stone. She was my great-grandmother's sister.
