I am a firm believer that every person, notable or not, should be remembered. I also hope that by posting the auction photographs, a family member may be able to retrieve their ancestors image. If I actually own the individual photograph, please contact me if you are a family member.|
If there is a photo attached to a memorial that I placed there, please read the photo description BEFORE contacting me for more information. If you open the photo completely, you will see in the description everything that I know about the photograph and where I found it. I rarely manipulate the portraits. What you see is the same exact thing I found, but sometimes in order to see the face, an image needs to be lightened or darkened.
I don't upload found photographs to make people angry. If YOU have a problem with a photograph posted, and I do make mistakes, simply message me that you would like the photograph removed.
I search various auction sites for identified period photographs and frequently, I purchase many. I also spend a lot of time researching identified photographs in order to place them. I have little patience for Find A Grave collectors. Those members who simply want the most memorials. Particularly those who can't spend the time connecting family links of their own memorials. I have run into a few of those when asking for a transfer and I have been declined. To those people, NO you cannot use any of my photographs.
I have been given permission to post auction photographs from Ebay by a few sellers.
If I currently manage a memorial that belongs in your family, please ask for a transfer. Please include the memorial number and your Find A Grave member number before you send a message. I will transfer memorials, however, if the memorial is a family member of mine, I will have to decline. If you have information to add to a memorial, please use the EDIT tab and do not post a personal message.
I typically manipulate the gravestone photos, that I take. I do this so that the inscription is the best it can be.

I noticed that you added photos to this grave record. I am in need of more information on this G. L. Monroe and, even more, on his wife, Margaret Burch Monroe.
Do you have further information on this family? Are you related to them?
Thank you. You may contact me at email@example.com

Thank you Norman. I will search out the Pennsylvania records for his parents.

I after I sent the request, I soon questioned whether it was right. I am still trying to figure out the relationship. According to Henry Gleason's dc (4 May 1848-2 Benzie Co., to Jul 1912 Allegan Co), his father was Robert Gleason and mother Harriett. It states Robert and Harriett were born in Pennsylvania, as does Henry's 1880 census. Henry's wife was the submitter of his dc information.
I am a descendant of Archibald Gleason. Currently I am trying to find the lineage of Sally Spencer (b. Midland, MI), a friend of my sister's.

Yes, I think they are the same - John's wife, Elizabeth Hardy Knox is buried in Fremont Cemetery in Tuscola Co., Michigan and someone linked John which is okay, but he is buried in the Marietta Nat'l Cemetery.
I wondered if you would sell the photo or if you are connected and want to hang on to it? Maybe I misunderstood what you do with "auction" photos ... I would like the photo - I would be giving it to the Mayville museum (the small town where John was living when he enlisted and where Elizabeth continued to live ...

I am interested in the photo you added of John Knox, but I am not sure ... are you a relative or is this an 'auction' photo? If this photo is available, I would be interested in obtaining it from you.
Could you let me know what the situation is ... firstname.lastname@example.org is my direct contact.

Thanks for looking. this was a child-maybe no marker? Unfortunately, all that is on the death certificate is "Empire" for burial.

Norman I will transfer the memorial to you since it isn't a relative of mine. Then you can have the individual photos of the stones also. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Stay warm.

Norman, after carefully searching every record, I believe that the photo is not my grandfather. The first half of the description is correct, but the second part is not. It is my belief that the photo is of the other Earle. Would you please remove it from my memorial. Thank you, Don

If you Facebook, you're welcome to check out my page: Rescued Family Treasures (the one with 189 Likes. If you find photos that you can attach to graves that you find, you're welcome to do so. You're very helpful by posting the information on how families can locate the originals. That's my hobby & I too have been doing such things since 2002. Thank you should you wish to do this.
