Bio Photo Being a photo volunteer for Find A Grave has become my primary hobby, and has inspired a belief that every person deserves that their time, regardless how little or how long, be preserved in grave marker photo's before time and the elements takes it's toll and they are lost forever. Having the opportunity to provide others with grave marker pictures, who otherwise, may never have a chance to see them, is a gratifying experience. I strive to get the best possible photo, although deterioration, or location, of some markers makes that difficult.

Currently, my main focus is on Rose Hill Cemetery, in Grady Co. Okla. I have, so far, found dozens upon dozens of people buried there that are not listed on cemetery sexton records. I do this by making photo surveys and comparing them to the records. I've determined that dozens more that are listed in the records are in unmarked graves. I am compiling a list of names and locations in hopes of someday getting this information into the records. I hope to accomplish this before it is my turn to fill one of those plots.

My Virtual Cemetery: Rose Hill - Unmarked Graves is a work in progress.

Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you

Photo Request - Leon Steed
Thank you for trying to take a picture of Leon's marker/headstone. I'll cancel my request since it appears there is nothing to see.

I appreciate all you do.

RE: Dock Crunk
I am new and it has brought me a lot of enjoyment so far. Sadly, I feel like I've discovered as much as I can via Find-a-Grave and I need to develop and learn more research skills to get past some dead ends. I really appreciate folks like you that can visit cemeteries so far away from my current residence.

RE: Adding Photos
I suspect that there may have been duplicate memorials and it was reported to F.A.G. staff and the F.A.G. staff must have merged the memorials somehow and in the process duplicated the photos.

I will update those memorials that I manage to use the better of the photos (whether yours or mine).
