Genealogy is one of my passions. I have been helped by countless volunteers and am always looking for ways to repay that generosity. Findagrave is a perfect outlet for that. |
I live within walking distance from Bellerive Cemetery (aka Hiram Cemetery), so most of my memorials and photos are from there. None of my family are buried there, so if you are related to someone I made a memorial for, I am more than willing to transfer it to you, just ask :)
Most of the grave markers in Bellerive are flat stones, so it's great exercise to look for someone's marker, which allows my genealogy obsession to have multiple benefits. I do avoid contact with the cemetery office as I know other F.A.G. volunteers have been charged $10 per look-up when asking for locations. I also try my best to respect the privacy of others I encounter there.
I want every memorial I have added to contain the most complete and accurate information available.
I am not in this for the numbers, and I am happy to transfer memorials within the F.A.G. guidelines. I believe memorials should be maintained by family and friends when possible. If you see that I have added a duplicate memorial, or one of your relatives that you would like transferred, just let me know.

That note was put there by the creator Annie202. I will remove it because he is not my Paternal Great-Grandfather.
I think you have access to my tree on ancestry.com. Here is the link to his main page.

Thanks for the transfer. It is always easier to make changes or additions if one manages a page. Thank you also for setting up her page in the first place and the photo. I appreciate it. You also have a good holiday.

I have a photo of my aunt that I would like to add to her findagrave page but the system will not allow me to add it because it would exceed the allowable number. It looks like there is one that could be deleted. Your photo has been updated by Ronald Montague with the death date of her husband Roy added to the marker. Maybe if you deleted that photo, I would have room to add it. Or probably one of Ronald's could be deleted. We probably don't need to see the marker from every orientation.
If you are not comfortable contacting Ronald, you could transfer the page to me and I can contact him. I have contacted him in the past and he is cooperative.
The photo I want to add is the same wedding photo I added to her husband's page.

Thank you so much for the transfer!

Thank you. I don't usually request the memorials of 2nd cousins. But in this family, there is much confusion over who Rollins mother was. And as I have the actual records. If you would, then I can attempt to straighten the records out... and connect them right.

Claire, I noticed and appreciate your posting the burial place of Thomas Nunn Pace in the Pace - Hensley cemetery, He is a member of our family and I would like to know if his grave is marked in any way. I know there are unmarked graves there and graves we did not get recorded when we were there in 1987. My late husband's, grandmother, Harriet Whitlow Pace is buried there. By now her stone may have melted away. It was a very soft stone. You can see it on the F.A.G. I would just like to know if you are in his genealogy and found a record or information on it.
Also can you confirm this cemetery is in the NE corner of hyw 90 and 163. We were there in 1987 and that is where I recorded it as being. More Later. Freeda Lindsey Crumpton Brewer.

Such a warm response! I am indeed interested in collaborating with you. Would you like to meet someplace to discuss or is this method enough? I live near the intersection of 141 and Clayton. I think there are some nice places too near Schaub's at Mason and Clayton.
I am tickled that you are working on Rose Hill. Are the Calmans on your list? The BHG office sent me to an open field...I have posted to Findagrave that I could not find their markers. Their names are Charles and Augusta "Gussie" Calman nee Rothschild.
Let me know what you would like to do. In the meantime, I've worked 4 rows at Eternal Light (over 250 memorials) that I am indexing for entry into Findagrave. I am taking a short break today to visit the St Louis Genealogical Society office and the Library on Lindbergh.
Hope to meet you soon!!

I am beginning to walk the entire Bellerive Heritage Gardens cemetery in Creve Coeur and try to get all their burials and marker photos into Findagrave. I am starting with the Eternal Light section (along Mason Road). I plan to draw up simple maps showing the interment locations and maybe publish the results. Are you aware of anyone who has already done this or is working on something similar at BHG?
I also am looking for others to collaborate.
