If I currently manage a memorial that belongs in your family, please ask for a transfer. Please include the memorial number and your Find A Grave member number before you send a message. I will transfer memorials, however, if the memorial is a family member of mine, I will have to decline. If you have information to add to a memorial, please use the EDIT tab and do not send a personal message or post a personal message.|
I typically manipulate the gravestone photos, that I take. I do this so that the inscription is the best it can be.
I also search various auction sites for identified period photographs and frequently, if a memorial and identity match, post them here. I also purchase many identified photographs and eventually attempt return them to their rightful owners (family). I have been given permission to post auction photographs from Ebay by a few sellers.
I am a firm believer that every person, notable or not, should be remembered. I also hope that by posting the auction photographs, a family member may be able to retrieve their ancestors image. If I actually own the individual photograph, please contact me if you are a family member.
Please note. If there is a photo attached to a memorial that I placed there, please read the photo description BEFORE contacting me for more information. If you open the photo completely, you will see in the description of everything that I know about the photograph and where I found it. I rarely manipulate any of the auction photographs. What you see is the same exact thing I found, but sometimes in order to see the face, an image needs to be lightened or darkened.
I don't upload photographs found to make people angry. If YOU have a problem with a photograph posted, and I do make mistakes, simply message me that you would like the photograph removed. I really don't wish to spend the time with your issues. See my profile comments by Brian McCullough , if you don't understand.
I also began a Pinterest board for photographs with identification, something as a thank you to the sellers who are in possession of these photographs. The auction links are intact and can be "jumped" to right from Pinterest. Have a look. The link is my "home page."

Norman, thank you for removing your photos from the Bradley memorials. I found some more I'd like removed, as follows: Alvin Luther Orten (#39347364), Daniel Price Orten (#58007518), Sarah Belle Orten Graves (#17492908) and Jessie F. Orten (#16945922) - The Orten lot sold recently on eBay, and I have the buyer's consent to repost my scans on Find A Grave. Thanks Again, John D.

|JDKille||Re: Photos for Alanson and Mary Bradley|
Hi Norman, I'd appreciate the removal of your photos on Memorial #52687344 Alanson Bradley and Memorial #52687450 Mary Bradley. As a seller of photographs on eBay and a contributor to Find A Grave, I'd like to post my own scans of these. I sold the originals back on 09/21/2013, and the buyer gave his consent for me to use my scans. The posting of photos from other sites such as eBay is a gray area on Find A Grave, especially since many of the older photos are considered public domain. Whenever I post a photo I've sold, I get my buyer's permission, even though he's not the owner of the copyright. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Best Regards, John D.

Thank you much! The information you had on the original photo is wonderful and welcomed.

thank you for your work! I do want to point out an error. The picture you have posted for Charles Henry Clifford is actually that of his father, Charles Sumner Clifford.
In your commentary with the photo,it notes Charles and Flora living in Oakham. This is correct. I am descended from their last daughter - Enola Florice Clifford (my great-grandmother).
I have posted this same photo already on Charles Sumner Clifford's page #91552509 as it was given to me by my grandmother's cousin Eva Grimes who lives on their farmstead in Oakham.
Happy to share any information about this family, and again thank you for all the great work you've done!

Great follow up !! I hope they take away the "? ".

Have you checked with the sexton or clerk to see if there is a marker here for him ? I looked on ancestry at the copy of the death certificate and it does not show a burial location. Perhaps his actual burial is in Pentwater or Hart, Oceana County. I am photographing the whole cemetery for the local genealogy society, so when I get information from the township or city, I will get back with you.

Thank you so much for posting the picture of Wyman Hoyt - he is my great, great grandfather. I am not familiar how the Find A Grave site works and just what you mean by Transferring the site. I am willing to help in anyway I can.

you're very welcome :D

I want to thank you for posting those pictures on Find A Grave. The couple didn't have any children but Henry was my 3rd great uncle. He very much favors his father, Thomas Ellsworth, in appearance and I can also see a resemblance to his brother, Horace Parmalee Ellsworth. I really appreciate your sharing those photos.
