I have a passion for photography and genealogy as well! I am slowly going to all of the cemetery(s) in our local area and photographing all headstones and updating them to this website.
Also -- another FindAGrave contributor wrote this... I think it says it all:
Please note: This is NOT a numbers game, Nor a "who has who" game here. Some of us are serious about getting names & photos of headstones that are not going to be around and making memorial pages. That is what this is about, making/recording that person lived and died. Like many, I spend long, long hours either in a cemetery, or adding memorial pages to Findagrave.com. I would love to see some of the headstones of family members that were in the 1700 & 1800 of my family, but that isn't going to happen as many are gone.
It doesn't matter who has the memorial page, the important thing is that someone cared enough to make a memorial page to honor that person and that is what findagrave.com is all about. Honoring the deceased, NOT who has what memorial or how many that they have. Thanks!
John & Millie Matthews John Mat(t)hew(s) 1859 - Sep.11,1952, is my Great-grandfather's brother and is buried in Bellefontaine Cemetery along with his wife Millie. You have the month & day of death listed for both, but that info is not on the stone. Could you please tell me where you got the info? Thanks Don S. Mathew
Thank you for your work on FAGrave. I wondered if you could process the edit on Pearl Cleveland (Memorial# 64011721). I know FAGrave does not notify us of edits pending and not sure if you saw mine. Thank you.
Henry C Mackey: bellefontaine thank you so much for posting his grave. He is my great great grand father. I have been trying to find out about my family since my father died and never spoke of them. I know Henry's father was Absalom Mackey a pretty well know person in Mt. Vernon and a captain on the river boats. If you know anything else I would love to know about it. I live in South Carolina and this is a task that is hard this far away. firstname.lastname@example.org
Hi, again, Crystal, Here I am again. Susan Priscilla McKinney, wife of James William McKinney is my great grandmother, would you consider switching maintenance of the site to me so I can get all of their children listed under the site instead of having some on yours and some on mine. Thanks again.
James W McKinney Hi Crystal. Are you related to James W McKinney? He is my Great Grandfather. I added him with his full name, James William McKinney,on Findagrave on 7-21-2009 which is several months prior to the addion of him as James W. McKinney. If he is not a close relative of yours could you please switch maintenance of the site to me. Your site has several children listed which won't show up on mine and I have other children of his listed which won't show up on yours. Would like to have them all in one place. Thanks so much.
I just added memorials for Rebecca Anderson Staiger and her son, William Arthur, not realizing you had already established memorials. Would you take a look? I added some photos and additional information.
The Alexandria Library has a reference book that incorrectly lists my grandmother, Agnes, as Rebecca's daughter. I'm sure that's because Rebecca's headstone is next to grandma's with the inscription "Mother". Rebecca is the mother of William Arthur, whose headstone is on the other side of Rebecca's.
James C Miller Crystal. James miller is my family. If you are not related. Please transfer. He is buried in posey co With his grandmother. You have unknown. If you look At the memorial I will make changed. 47258925 linda
