Happy New Year! It has been a while since I've had the chance to work on here. Sorry if I haven't answered anyone's messages or made updates fast enough. I will try to get to it as soon as I can. Thank you so much for your patience.
My work on Find A Grave is one of my 'random acts of kindness'. I don't do it for credit or to have more pictures or records than others. I do it because it helps someone out whether it's a photo request that I fulfill, a name I add or just a picture that I take. I do it so others can get on here and find their family or friends. I do it to help others with their grief. I do it to fill in gaps on someones family tree. I also do it to honor those who've passed. Every picture that I take, I take with love. I take it like I would if it were my own family's picture[though I can't vouch for my early pictures on here!]. I put it here untouched so that it can be added to someone's family records. I don't want or expect anything in return for the work I do. The fact that I can look at all the work I've done on here over the years and feel good inside knowing that I've made a difference is enough for me.
I have no problem updating records. PLEASE send any info that needs changed or added through the 'SUGGEST A CORRECTION' button. It is the quickest way because it adds the links and info to one mail and I don't have to search Find A Grave for the record. Feel free to keep the pictures that I've taken and added to this site. They are not mine but belong to the family of the person. Also, if I have added a close family member and you would like to maintain it, I have no problem transferring it. Please use the 'suggest a correction' button for transfers too. Please keep in mind that just because someone has made a record for someone, it doesn't mean that all the info on said record has come from the record maker. Since we can correct things, the info could be from anyone.
I'm researching the following surnames: Hampton, Howell, Banks, Watkins, Osborne, Collier, North, Arrowood, Walden and Walls. They are from Floyd, Letcher, Breathitt, Bell & Wolfe Counties in KY and Campbell County, TN.
I have personally walked many cemeteries and taken pictures. Some of these include New Carlisle, Medway, Myers, Glen Haven, Evergreen, Casstown, Donnelsville, House of Jacob, Kepper, Lost Creek, McKendree, Newson, Sodom, West Charleston, Terre Haute, Studebaker, Walden, Watkins, Callison and Kyle cemeteries. Sometimes I take pictures of the whole cemetery or sometimes I just pick random stones. Sometimes it's just the cemeteries front page. It just depends on my mood.
Ella R Prye Glaize memorial #37687069 questions....please what does the R stand for in her name? And what is your source? All the census records that I found list a B as her middle initial. Thank you, Nannette #46825463
Jane Claypool McFarland Jane Claypool McFarland Find A Grave# 20626908 You have her birth unknown and her at 56y 11m. Did you get that off her stone? She was also put there by Wayne her Find A Grave# 71155018. I sent Wayne a letter telling him about your Find A Grave#. According to my records she was born 5 April 1789. Her first name was Martha. There are still things I am working on to see who her brother John's family was. You may look in my tree. I hope to hear from both of you. Thank You Barbara (Claypool) Aultman.
Ida and Madison Larry Amber, there are no death dates for them on the monument, but both are buried in Evergreen. I could send you the obits. Would you type them on the record. This will save people in the future guessing. Karen
Cemetery records Amber, I hope you remember me, Linda Doile Morris. Now I am telling on myself when I tell you I read the note asking you to take someone off you records because they think a person is ot in Spring Grove. All I can say is that they don't have complete records anywhere. Do you know there is a Sarah Schnepp buried on one side of Catherine Straub Schnepp and Leonard Schnepp. All it say is Sarah Schnepp 1842. No one has this child or knows who she belongs to but...I know she is ours. James Noble Snapp had told me about her and I had a volunteer at the cemetery check it out. He knew what he was talking about. I still don't know who she is but...she did not show up on any records either. Amber, would you write me back. I never knew just where to place you in the family.
Hazel Grace Cessna, South Charleston, ohio I am her grandaughter. Her maiden name was Silver. Husband, Charles Russell Cessna, children: James Russell Cessna, Donna Jean Cessna Rice, Roger L. Cessna, Howard Edwin Cessna. All of the names and relationships you show with the tombstone photo are incorrect. The family would appreciate the correct info for future genealogical researches. Thank you, firstname.lastname@example.org
37825525 I have corrected on Spring Grove this person. The notes you have entered were not the complete notes I had on the US Tombstone and archives. Since there is no monument for him in either cemetery this makes it difficult without the cemetery records. Please remove Thomas Edward Walborn from Evergreen cemetery, he was never interred there
