I have loved cemeteries ever since a child when I went with my Grandmother and she told me about all the people and their lives. |
My dream would be to have all the memorials I have entered to be claimed by family. I will be happy to transfer memorials to you.
I am interested in the Civil War NYS Volunteers --the 189th Regiment and the 8th Heavy Artillery

The Strattons and Nellie Stratton May aren't my family, most of which are in Missouri and Colorado. I took the photo of John and Ella Stratton's headstone because I was curious about him being a War Veteran. Born in 1864, his most likely major War would be the Spanish-American War. There were also a number of wars vs Indians and other minor campaigns that would qualify him as a War Veteran, but I couldn't find anything to back that up in Ancestry.com. Do you have any information on John Stratton's service?
On another subject, I notice that you have duplicate Memorials for Nellie. Memorial# 61458385 is the earlier of the two, but your Memorial# 61752129 has all the good info. Perhaps the former should be deleted.
I see that you are interested in and have virtual cemeteries for 189th NYS Volunteers, 189th NYS Volunteers Company C, and 8th NYS Heavy Artillery. I have come across some of those Veterans in my work. Here are three from Tyrone Union Cemetery that will be of interest:
Finally, there were reportedly two CSA marker/flag holders in Tyrone Union Cemetery that have recently disappeared. We hope to find any CSA veterans buried there. There are many CSA veterans buried in Woodlawn National Cemetery , Elmira, New York. Rumor has it that quite a few were buried on Pulver Hill just north of Tyrone, New York.
Best, Buddy Leech

I'm writing to request your permission to attach your photos of Arleigh and his parents to my tree. I would also acknowledge you as the contributor.
Thank you for your contribution to this site.
I just wanted to say hello. It would seem that we share a relative in Isabella Austin. Its nice to meet a shoestring relative! (My mother's maiden name is Towle)

Please note the marriage date you show as 1907. She died in 1907. They were married Oct 21st 1903
|Donna Garrett||N Floyd Hubbard|
Please note that the death date you typed is in error. Just a typo I'm sure, but N Floyd Hubbard died in 1950 not 1952.

|Art Parker||Zelpha Decker transfer|
Good morning Caroline,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and quick transfer of Zelpha's memorial; it will be my privilege to develop her page and link her to other family members.
Your very generous offer to convey memorials to relatives is greatly appreciated, and I'll certainly let you know if I discover any others within your extensive body of work.
