I started searching my ancestors in February 2010 and have gotten hooked! Whenever I am able to locate someone after a long search it feels like such a victory.

I spend a lot of time in the area cemeteries looking for my relatives. It is peaceful walking (or driving around) these cemeteries, a good place for me to unwind and forget the outside world for awhile. The search for these ancestors has become a great adventure.

Researching 10 different families (most in eastern Kentucky) takes a lot of time and patience. When I get stuck on one family I just move on to another for awhile.

Maybe I will have a good picture of my ancestors and be able to leave this information to my family by the time I leave this world.

Memmorial #58954601
Yale has just released 170,000 photos taken by govt photographers during the Great Depression . You can click on the map and see photos for each county/state where the photos were taken. Website is .
I began searching on the map...chose Ross Co., OH. Many great pictures and way too many are unidentified people. There are 2 of Ira Ison of Ross Co., which may be this Ira Ison. Search by surname here:

Find A Grave Update
Terri FYI

Very upset about the upgrade to include the Ancestry search at the bottom of each memorial. After all we are doing them a favor in providing the information that they need. The upgrade is dysfunction in the way that I can't back out and get locked into the memorial site.

Fred WIlliam Dillow
Can you please add Gladys Stephens/Stevens as a wife of Fred William Dillow, memorial #19556180. They also had a daughter, Dovie Onetta Dillow, born 1919, her memorial # is 150965221. I believe Fred and Gladys divorced sometime before Dovie was born as Gladys married my g-grandfather Aug. 1919 right after Dovie was born. Thank you, Tina

Oma Johnson
I have posted a photo of the headstone for Oma in Brooklyn Hgts Cem. I just thought you would like to know that I also posted a memorial for a Alva V Johnson 1937-2010 (Mem# 147883345) who is also buried in Brooklyn Hgts Cem. not far from Oma and Evelyn. Thought maybe Alva is also a relative.

Betty Creech Bigham
Believe this Betty was the woman who named me Brenda in 1958 Los Angeles, CA. She would have been married to Jack Crist at the time and had a daughter who taught me how to tie my shoes when I was 4 years old. I would like someone who could verify that this is the right Betty to contact me before I inform my mom, (also a Betty) of her passing.
