I became involved with family history when my mother broke down and cried because she didn't know where her mother was buried. My grandmother died when my mom was only 3 years old. I then set out to find my grandmother's burial place along with many other family members that mother had no idea where their graves were. Mother knew hardly anything about her mother's side of the family. All I knew from mother's details was we came from a long line of coal miners and moonshiners. Now after 20 years of research my tree is still growing and being refined. I have found out much more about mother's side of the family, but I hold a deep despair in my heart because I will never know my father's family history. My father lived under a false name and never revealed to my mother who he really was. I know how it feels to just have a little morsel of hope in finding out about who you are. I am here to help give someone some hope.|
UPDATE: Since I wrote this Bio nearly two and half years ago my mother has passed. Lenora Attress Hoover Hawley b.Aug 12, 1927 Crummies Creek Ky, d. Sep. 12, 2012 Sylacauga,Al. Exactly what is the problem? I don't, of course, enter the memorial number. Tell me what should be there, if you will. I shall certainly try to fix whatever is wrong but whoever entered the reference numbers has caused the mix up. Tell me what I need to do to fix it and I will jump right on it, okay? Sherry

I came across your post and wanted to give you a correction on the death of Mary J. Burrell McCallister Brock. She died on 3 March 1933 at Crossville, DeKalb Co., AL at the age of 77. The Brock family is in my wife's lineage on her mothers side.

Catherine, thanks so much for all your postings. I was able to locate my 3xgreat grandparents, James Henry Hill and Lucinda Ann Hicks, and possibly my 4xgreat grandparents. I think that the Hicks parents and siblings linked on James Hill's page (66182559) really belong on Lucinda's page (66182561), unless you have other information? I have submitted a few edits to link the children of James and Lucinda, including my 2nd great grandfather David E. Hill.
Thank you! - Ellen
|Jamie "BamaFann"||Question about your pictures|
A member who is inactive now added about 175 memorials to the wrong cemetery, but easy to do because one of them is Beulah Baptist Church cemetery in Fyffe and the other is Beulah Chapel Missionary close to Flat Rock. Anyway I'm trying to get them corrected and I was wondering if I could move your pictures to the right cemetery. It's the Bethune family, all of them but one is supposed to be in the Fyffe cemetery. If you would rather move them that's fine, I would make sure you would have credit for taking the pictures. I would not want the pictures to get deleted with the memorials that are in the wrong cemetery.
Take care, and keep up the great work on the pictures.
