Taphophilia (a passion and enjoyment of cemeteries) has been my main hobby since the late 1970's when I was a junior in high school. I discovered that cemeteries in and around Los Angeles were the best places to hide from truant officers. It was in these adopted sanctuaries that I began to appreciate my surroundings: the grounds, the headstones, the architecture, the artwork and most importantly, the residents.|
In October of 2010, I founded The Traveling Taphophiles, a group that sets out once a month to visit cemeteries. Our travels have taken us as far as New Orleans. I'm fortunate to have met others that share my hobby and to have forged some great friendships along the way.
Once photos have been posted, feel free to use them as you wish - photo credit isn't necessary.
Happy Graving ~

Good luck with adding Mr. Dorman into "famous," Louis. I did find his wife? Jean by him so made her a memorial...and Gail Dorman already had one.
One of my sons told me about the contributor lists, but I haven't looked at them since maybe 2010 so maybe I'll have to check again one day. Good for you for working so diligently! Doing a usually-quality job is quite time-consuming...doing the preparations and getting familiar with places, driving, searching, cleaning, getting the sun to cooperate ~ the heart-felt physical processes that can't be done via Internet ~ and then doing an honorable edit/posting job. When I first checked them out, I saw the woman who had the most requests fulfilled...quite a bit more than anyone else...maybe 1000 then...was credited for finding some people with names of "??? ???"...just like that...which made no sense so I never quite know what was going on with them (I DID once see a marker that looked like it had a question mark on it...shadows from a distance).
But I looked up Taphophilia...GREAT to learn...and was glad to read about Richard Dorman and find his family, and you're surely welcomed for the pix ~ :°)

You represent the very best Find-A-Grave has to offer, your memorials are well written , and always informative, thanks for the one you just did on Meshach Taylor!!
A very nice bio for Eli Wallach. I was hoping you could add that his wife was actress Anne Jackson who he was married to since 1948.

Great job on memorial. News reports that he died at 3:23am at St. Anthony's Hospital in Gig Harbor Washington.
Thank you for posting the memorial for Casey Kasem. Please look in your "Other Folder" on your Facebook page. I sent you a private message about this memorial.
