this is for you: sense you have your messages turned off, I have no choice but to leave you a message here in hopes that you see it. This is what I received today, 7/4/16

Find A Grave contributor Anonymous 2 has made a suggestion to you regarding your Find A Grave memorial for Stephen Abel.
Link to memorial:
Link to contributor profile:

Their suggestion:
This is in regards to "H RAY SWANK".

I don't know WHO you are, however, I have sent FAG a complaint asking who you are and what gives you the right to go into one of my memorials and make changes. According to the obituary all that is listed is H Ray Swank, NOT Harold Ray "Ray" Swank. I'm responsible for his memorial not you. Please DO NOT go into my account again and make changes to anything. I will be declining everything from you from here on out. I don't appreciate deception. How many other memorials have you gone into and made changes without permission?"

My response:

I'm sorry you're so upset. I didn't think I had such powers. All I did was fill our an edit request to inform you what his name was and that they called him by his middle name. Isn't that what the edit button was made for? I realize I'm old and only been a member for 9 years but this has never happened before that I know of. I thought we were suppose to help one another and share the information we had. My memorials are not mine, I'm simply a care taker while I'm here, until someone who loves them wishes to be their caretaker and request a transfer.

Thank-you for the blessed holiday.

RE: Charles Shaver - 36836973
Thank you for making the changes. Our struggle in family history is to correct information so we get the "real story" of our ancestors.

God bless you in searching your family history

RE: Charles Shaver - 36836973
Your message back to me: You sent an edit for his
Mother: Theresa Shaver (1826 - 1908) and
Spouse 1: Minnie N Shaver (1865 - 1947)
there was already a Mother listed as:
Sarah Ann Pogue Hedrick (1839 - 1873)
please explain where your names came from. Thank-you.

It might be easier if you went and looked at the documents on, LV4B-RW1. Issue 1: Marriage to Minnie I. Newell: Please see marriage record for Charles Shave & Minnie I. Newell: mentioned in the record of Charles E. Shaver and Minnie I. Newell
Name Charles E. Shaver
Spouse's Name Minnie I. Newell
Event Date 15 Feb 1893
Event Place Goshen, Elkhart, Indiana

Issue 2: Mother of Charles E Shaver
All Census information shows his parents as John & Theresa Almstead. See Indiana Death Certificate that I attached to this memorial for your review.

Thank you for your time and consideration in considering this request.

I wonder what records you have that the current mother is correct, that might be a good place to solve this mystery. If there is anything I can do to help you, please let me know.

Thank you,
Tamela J Ashlock

RE: Lois Hubner
Hi Carol,

I am related to Lois. She and my dad were cousins. I never had the opportunity to meet Lois and her sisters, but knew their mother Mary Miller very well. She is the one who sparked my interested in genealogy many years ago. I found that Andrew Miller wasn't listed so I added him to this site. Find A Grave has been a big asset in my family search and I enjoy it very much. Are you also related Lois?

Yeah, I think the main site had been hacked. Not to worry, I cite her as a source. . That is also cited in the Greenwood Cemetery records.

RE: Vernon B. Marcus - New Carlisle Cemetery, St Joseph Co.
It worked out that I had time to get to New Carlisle this morning, so was able to take and post the photo needed. Happy to help.
