My name is Michelle Renee "Shelley" (Latey) Broyles. I am the mother of three children: Jonathan, 22, a Marine; Mikaila, 19, a student at BYU; and Tessa, 17, an exchange student in Germany. And grandmother of two beautiful granddaughters. Right now I am a full-time student; pursuing a major in Psychology and Applied Behavioral Science. I have been researching my family for 18+ years and put as much time as I can into the hobby. My husband, Dan, jokes that my idea of a good vacation is being in a cemetery, which isn't far from the truth. Everywhere I travel I try to stop and take pictures of cemeteries in hopes that someone will be helped in finding family members. I live in Johnson Co., Kansas, so if I can be of help please contact me and let me know. Happy hunting everyone!|
I am a full-time student, so my time is very limited. I get a lot of requests. Please be as patient as you can. I promise I will get to them. I am not hard-nosed as some contributors are and will be happy to transfer memorials if they are in your family lines. Also, when communicating remember that "you get more with honey than with vinegar." Thank you everyone!
OH, one more thing, I have the sexton records for the Olathe Cemetery up to, I believe, 2006. I have yet to get them all up. I have taken all the photographs of tombstones if there is one. I am still working on getting all of those up. Let me know if you are wondering about someone and I will look them up for you.
PLEASE, IF YOU HAVE A REQUEST FOR A TRANSFER OR MEMORIAL CORRECTION DO IT FROM THE MEMORIAL DON'T PLACE IT IN MY MESSAGES. Only leave messages if you are thanking me, or are, or think you are related. As I go through my messages I delete them, so that I know that I have responded or read them. Please know that I see and appreciate every one of them! :)
**** Sometimes life happens, and it is happening to me right now. Please be as patient as you can. I know some of you have been waiting 3-4 months for a response. I am not ignoring you. I see that some of you have gone through administration, which is fine, but please don't be threatening or passive aggressive. I am a real person, with real feelings, and with a real life. I am not retired and don't have a lot of time on my hands. I love this work and love you all for the wonderful work you are doing.****

Hi Shelley - this is my third great grandfather and I want to write a biog. for him - would you turn his profile over to me - and also that of his wife, my 3rd great grandmother Rebecca Jane Burris Barnett? I have lots of information about this family and their 5 children and I want to link them all on the site.
Thanks, Judy email@example.com
Can U combine these bits of info & pixs, then delete the dupe, pls.
|Keete (Clark) Giovanazzi||Daggs Family|
I was wondering if you are not related to the Daggs family if you would not mind transferring them to me. William Wallace Daggs, Mary Rachel Mollie Daggs are my descendants, My 3x Great Grandmother Lethiann Amanda Daggs was Williams Mother and I would like to link the family together for others who my be doing research. Mary was Williams wife. Thank you for your time. Keete

I would like your permission to use your photo of Augustus Allen Bobbitt in Ada's Rosedale Cemetery in a story that I have written. You would be credited with the photo.

Shelly, could you tell me where I might get a copy of the original obituary? I would love to get one. Thanks. Leonard (firstname.lastname@example.org)

Dear Shelley, I have looked through ALL your messages and do not find one from me. :-) But somehow I feel I have made this request before but it may have been several years ago. I don't have any written copy of a response. If so, please forgive but I think it will be an easy thing for you to accommodate. I am currently compiling in hard copy the Cheadle family history of which the above is a descendant (5th great grandson of the progenitor, George Cheadle). My mother-in-law was a Cheadle. I am NOT requesting transfer of any memorials. I would respectfully request permission to download this photo and any others which pertain to our line. Credit will be given such as "Courtesy of Shelly Broyles, contributors Find A Grave Memorial # ? ? ?" if that is agreeable. I downloaded the early photo of Allen and his wife posted some time ago and see a more recent one. Is it possible that his wife is now deceased? I wouldn't want to include that photo if she is.
I look forward to hearing from you, either way; however, if I do not receive a response by Sep 15, (see? Easy!) I will presume you have no objections to either my downloading the photos or crediting you as I have described.
My treatise is in no way a profit making project and will not (by my request) be posted on the internet nor will living individuals be included to the best of my ability.
You have no idea how much we who are of an age (I'm 84) or distance and cannot traipse through cemeteries as we once did appreciate the effort and passion of you who contribute to Find A Grave. Many thanks from an old lady.

RE: Headstone for Mary Hanrahan (Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Olathe)
First of all, THANK-YOU for posting my relative's headstone on Find-a-Grave!! My Great Aunt Mary (Jensen/Johnson) Hanrahan is buried in the Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Olathe. She was the Wife of Patrick Hanrahan and was aged 27y, 21d when she died on Jan. 9, 1883. I've been searching for her for years!
I have 2 questions. Please answer via email:
1. Most importantly - Do you have the Sexton Records (or any records) for the Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery?
2. Can you please tell me what the saying/quote is on the bottom or the headstone? I've enlarged the photo but still cannot tell what it says.
Many thanks Shelley. Please let me know your address so I can send you a small token of my appreciation.
