Bio and Links
Bio Photo Started researching the family roots about 1990. researching the names ROBERTSON, WAGGONER, DECKARD, SEXTON, HAMMOND, ALEXANDER, BROWN, SWANGO, GIBSON, COWLES, TAYLOR, VANCE, AND GRAMLIN. Have just recently started taking digital cemetery pictures of stones to add to family tree collections.

I decided to start contributing these pictures on line to share with other's in search of these Ancestors.

These bios and pictures may not be published for sale or sumitted to websites that charge a subscription.

Please send any corrections or pictures via "EDIT" button and I will correct or add to these collections and give credit to the person submitting. If you are a family member of one of my postings and would like ownership to add bios or pictures feel free to do so.

These entries are dedicated to our two sons, grandchildren and future generations in search of their roots.

Have been working 5 years on photographing & posting WALNUT RIDGE CEMETERY, JEFFERSONVILLE, IN to FAG.

DO NOT USE BLEACH TO CLEAN WHITE MILITARY STONES AS IT WILL TURN THEM YELLOW AND THE DAMAGE CANNOT BE UNDONE.

RE: New Home Cemetery, Cleveland County, AR
Janet,

Thank you for your condolences. Sorry it has taken me so long to get the information for you. My records show the same location as the other two gave you. I'm sorry about your family's loss. I will keep you all in my prayers!

Iva V. Spurgeon, Walnut Ridge Cemetery
Janet,
The stone you have found for Iva is indeed strange.
This is the information that I have found in the Clarksville, Indiana Town Death Records Book 2, page 85:
Iva Virginia Spurgeon
born: 12 August 1899, Indiana
died: 18 September 1923, Clarksville, Clark Co., Indiana
spouse: Dempsey Spurgeon
father: Scott Smith
mother: Lulia Whittington
buried: 20 September 1923, Walnut Ridge Cemetery
informant: Dempsey

It appears to me that Iva died very young and her parents provided this tombstone. That is why the name Smith is predominant. However you now have the rest of the story. Hope this is helpful. Please change her maiden name and last name so that others looking for this individual can find her. Thanks

Larry Michael Baugh
Hi Janet,
Do you know Larry?? I am trying to get a photo of this young man, as he served in the same unit as my husband. If you are in the area perhaps a obit or school photo could be located. Thanks for all of your fine contributions.
