I was born in Statesboro, Bulloch County, GA.|
I graduated high school at Glynn Academy in Brunswick, Glynn County, GA. I attended college at Macon and Savannah, GA. I am currently living in Brantley County, GA along with my family and several dogs. This site seems to be an excellent medium for honoring ancestors and sharing some of my research. Some of the surnames I am researching are: Gandy, Redding, Waters, Willis, Livingston, Boatright, Carter, Abbott, Hagan, NeSmith and Moody. I am especially interested in the Civil War era and the pioneer families of Thomas County, GA and Bacon County, GA. Please make me aware of any mistakes in my postings. If any of my postings are members of your family please let me know and I will happily transfer control to you. I appreciate all suggestions, additions and corrections. Thank you very much for taking time to visit and may GOD bless you.

|A Friend||SGT. FRANCIS MARION "FRANK" GANDY #6798638|
MAX EDWARD GANDY shown as EDWIN GANDY, (#109095123) in 1900 CENSUS,in his 1938 obituary indicated he was survived by sisters; MRS. ELLA PHILLIPS #83051190, MRS. DELLA ELLISON #44823184, MRS. MARTHA ADA LITTLETON #37308222, MRS. LAURA ELIZABETH BAILEY #83050202 and brothers; DOCK GANDY (referred to as Uncle Dock by family members), ROBERT ALEXANDER GANDY #55457963, JOHN WILLIAM GANDY #83050382 and ALBERT GANDY possibly JOSEPH ALBERT GANDY aka J A GANDY Born: 25 May 1882.
Can you provide any help or suggestions on where I could locate DOCK GANDY and ALBERT GANDY as indicated in the 1900 Census?
I am assuming that DOCK GANDY had left the family home in 1900, however he was listed as surviving in 1938. In the 1900 Census it was indicated that they had 11 children with 10 living.
Also any suggestions on where I might find help in finding information on the GANDY family in COMPANY 3, 50TH GA INFANTRY, CONFEDERATE STATES ARMY.

|Vicky Wheeler||Elizabeth Byrd Boatright|
Hi - I was wondering if you could identify the people in the photo you posted to the findagrave memorial of Elizabeth Byrd Boatright? It's a very good photo -very clear. I appreciate your time & consideration.
|Brenda Arnett Darbyshire||Proof|
What proof do you have that he is buried at the other cemetery. I believe he is buried at the one in question. It looks older! The one you believe is most likely a ceno whatever!
|Brenda Arnett Darbyshire||Rentz|
As you can see I only created the memorial. I add from edits given to me by members. The photo is also someone else. I will look into it!
R. L., you know, I do not make edits without sources. It is no reflection on you, but, on the next person, who will argue that is it not right. So, I will decline all of your requests, without them.
Thanks for your help, marriages, census info, whatever it takes to keep them straight.

Daniel Jr was in the Civil War and served in Louisiana. He was talked about by my grandpa, Rev Buford E. Cain, Sr. Daniel Jr started as a drummer in the war, then moved into infantry when he became of age, so I was told. Daniel R. Gandy, Jr was buried in Self Cemetary in Leesville, La and he was my great-great grandpa. My grandpa was also buried in Self Cemetary. I have some land that was issued to Daniel Gandy Jr by the president at the time. So, somehow R.L. Gandy, we are too cousins. 😁
|Andy||RE: Laurel Hill|
thanks... like I do at the other big cemeteries I frequent, when I'm looking for requests I usually take 10 to 20 more pictures of graves that are nearby and add them. Laurel Hill is a bit different; unlike here in Tallahassee, I don't know where the graves are (Tallahassee city cemeteries have a database with plot numbers), but there are so many roads, you can drive up and down looking for them. Sometimes I bring my mom, and in the case of yesterday's venture we found 17 out of the 50. Which reminds me... how did you know the location being 5th or 6th street, whichever one we found was yours? If you contacted the city, I would love to know so I can find those older requests.

|Jeff Zelinka||Amos Gandy|
I was reading your page. Are you in a direct descendant line from Amos Gandy? He was my wife's great great great great grandfather! I have been helping her work on her family tree but I discovered that the Gandy clan easily has thousands of descendants. What is your Gandy line? We live in Bakersfield, Kern County California. Amos had John H, who had Alston Bunn who had Jefferson who had Curtis who had Kenneth who had my wife Gail.
|Mayberrygal||RE: TC Redding pic|
Yes, we are 6th cuzns. You and I corresponded about a year ago.
I removed that photo on TCR's memorial page that I had posted. I got this from some cuzn or another...can't remember which one...but if it is the wrong person, we definitely don't want it to be there.
I love seeing all these old photos and having them available for future generations to enjoy. In my research I have often found "orphan" Reddings here and there on Find A Grave, and when I know for sure who the parents were, I add them as a genealogical tool for other researchers.
Thanks for letting me know. I am always happy to share any info/photos that I have.
Cuzn Sandy (currently in WPB, FL)
