My interest in genealogy and appreciation of cemeteries came from my maternal grandmother. I belong to the Society of Mayflower Descendants through her ancestors. These ancestors, to date, are Henry Samson (and the aunt who raised him, Ann Cooper Tilley, who had no children of her own), Edward Fuller, James Chilton and his daughter Mary (who married John Winslow), and Richard Warren. More to come, possibly.|
I thought Grandma's genealogy was well researched and documented, but I only knew a fraction of it.
Very little is known about Grandpa's ancestry and that continues to be the challenge. His Bunting and Murphy ancestry, however, is known and documented in Livingston and Washtenaw County MI.
I have met many friends and relatives in the process of unraveling my family's past, and it's become a terrific hobby. I don't know what I did in my spare time before.
Some of the names I research are Gardner, Bunting, Murphy, Eastman, Sprout, Damon, Scovill, Collins, Reed, Hinchey, Lassen, and last but not least, Rasmussen.
Good luck in all your genealogy travels.

You're welcome. I was impressed by the headstone. That was a nice piece of work and it sets in a quiet part of the cemetery.

You're very welcome, glad to help. I also searched plot 148 for Edwin & Emaline Hinchee and could not find the graves.
In the 1865 NY State Cencus I found,
Edwin 44 years old, born in Saratoga County
Emaline 38 years old, born in Saratoga County
Warren 17 years old, born in Orleans County
Ellen 13 years old, born in Orleans County and
Charles 1 year 10 months, born in Chautauqua County.
That's all i could find.

do let me know if you think I can be of further help in making your determination. I am assuming you found his biography on the Salem Pioneer website... I can also retrieve his death certificate for you at no cost...

I only photographed the stones listed for Deepwood Cemetery; I did not conduct any research or look for stones that did not have a photo request. Sorry.

The 1979 Vernon County Mo. cemetery book lists her buried alone. I have not seen him in the cemetery book but(I believe there is a newer one) Deep wood cemetery in Nevada Mo. is rather large. Will keep looking. I do not live in Mo. I live 100 miles away in the Kansas City suburb's ,however I do go there often as my mother-in-law lives there was just there last Wednesday. I can possibly put you in touch with a library volunteer who lives in Nevada Mo. Or You can wait a couple mouths before I go back. Just let me know. Jarrott

Hi, I think this is my mistake, I must have put the wrong maiden name, I will correct this, thanks for pointing this out, Karol
Velma Chaney-Keno Cemetery
Hello from Northern Michigan.
I was wondering if you happen to recall where you saw that Velma Chaney's maiden name was Johnson? Perhaps a cemetery transcript? The reason I ask is because I think her maiden name was Harkey.
I have been tracing the family back to their Eastman roots, thus my reason for coming across Velma and her family. Maybe between the two of us we can figure this out!
Thank you for your consideration and all that you have done for Find-A-Grave.

I got the photos through a 3rd party, so I can share them with you, and I don't see a problem with you sharing them with others in a private way, but I cant give any sort of permission about posting them. In fact the party I obtained them from originally posted them on the memorial pages of findagrave, but then took them down - probably for permission concerns. If he decides to repost them, it would probably be a good idea to contact him about sharing them in a more public manner. Adam
