Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love this site! I appreciate the work of people who make these memorials and those who take the photos to match. Because of the work of others I have found several 'long-lost' ancestors. I don't know that I would have found them any other way. Thank you to all who have made an entry, taken a photo, made a transfer, or created links between family members.

I am a retired teacher and I live in Michigan. I have been making entries and taking photos of the cemeteries around me in several counties. I'm happy to make edits and links and transfers.

I'm not the best photographer around, but I'm learning as I go. Please feel free to use any photo I've taken.

1870 census for Laura Brown
I believe someone has led us down the wrong path!

I have a distant "Aunt Lollie"=Laura Brown who was born in 1862...who is not the one on the family list!

1870 census for Corunna, Mi shows: mother Elizabeth Brown (b 1838), daughters = Sophia (b 1859), Laura (b 1862), Eleanor (b 1864) and Mary "Travers" actually TRAVIS (b 1838)

That would NOT put Laura as died in 1902 nor born in 1843!!

My mother-in-law Beverly Loraine Carr remembers driving "Aunt Lollie" (Laura Brown) to the cemetery ever now & then (mom's born 1924)!! Can't happen!!

Says she lived on Marquette Street (not sure if she meant herself or Aunt Lollie).

"HELP, I need somebody..." like the song says LOL. As soon as you read this...delete it because I'm giving you my phone #...(574) 216-8111.

August Frey birthdate
Dear Laura,

I noticed that the birth date you wrote for the August Frey grave was 1848 but the tombstone clearly marks his birth as the year 1849. And our family records indicate his birthdate as 1849 as well. Can you please correct this on the page?

Best regards,
Jane Frey

RE: Charlotte Gaylord
Dear Laura,

You are most welcome. I was very happy when I saw your grandmas
stone. Those guys really did the work and on their own volition. Few
town agencies would go so far to make restorations

John Gaylord 1714-1778
According to the book "Families of Ancient New Haven" by Donald Lines Jacobus, John Gaylord was born in Durham, Ct and died in Bristol, CT.

While looking for Benjamin Gaylord, I found this information and thought you might want it. There are several pages of Gaylords in this book and if you are interested, I can scan the pages and send them to you in an email. The date range is 1641 to the mid 1800's. These books were written in 1923.

RE: Crawley-Futral Cemetery
I originally found the information in a book at Clayton Library in Houston. The title is _Cemeteries of Spalding County, Georgia, vol.1_, published by the Griffin Historical and Preservation Society in 1986.

I searched for it on the web just now and found that the society has digitized all five volumes of the set.

The link for vol. 1 is:
http://www.griffinhistory.com/includes/cemeteries/Cemeteries%20of%20Spalding%20County%201.pdf

The CF cemetery is listed on p. A-9. The directions from 1986 are not as accurate now, but I was able to locate the cemetery while on a visit in 2011. If you look at the CF cemetery page here at Find A Grave, you will see it on the map - if you zoom in, you will see a little parallelogram - that is the exact location from GPS coordinates.

RE: Phaneufs
Sorry yes those are Minne and Charles' children. Let me see what I can find about your husband's family. Joseph Phaneuf had a brother Maxime Faneuff and Julianne had a sister Hermine Beaugrand. They too married, so their descendants are my double cousins. There are a variety of spellings.

Nazareth Baptish Church Cemetery, Zebulon
I tried to find the Nazareth Baptish Church Cemetery in Zebulon, Ga and could not. I finally figured out it has changed its name to Open Arms Baptist Church. Do you know how we go about changing the name of a church/cemetery? Bill from Williamson, GA

I Remember When
RE: Lydia Gaylord Hess Montague
You're very welcome Laura! It's always a joy to find these items and then share them on the pages with others. What's so great about it is people get to read it in the actual newspaper print.
As far as how you did it, it's fine. I have just been putting a note at the top of the page that says:

Photo at right
Microfilm archive
Carthage Weekly Banner
Week of September 30, 1886

That way when they look to the right at the photo, they know that's what your referencing.
However you want to do it is fine. :)

RE: East Line Cemetery/Inyo Co, CA
I got the list of names from the cemetery office years ago. There is also a West Line Street Cemetery. There could be burials in East Line Street that the office does not know about. I know for a fact that they were digging for a burial and came across a casket that was not on their list as being buried in that location. I have a contact with the Supervisor. I can ask for an email or phone number if you want to contact the office. Let me know. Anne
