"Grandchildren are the dots that connect the lines from generation to generation." Lois Wyse (20th century)|
"Life is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset. What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others." S Pierce in memorial of "Woody" and Wilda Woodward.
I am a grandmother picking up the genealogy work started by my father, mother and uncle. Now, I am combining and elaborating on this work, linking my family genealogy (ancestors and descendents) and adding memorials for family and friends.
I assisted with the Centennial Chapter NSDAR project of photographing the headstones in Weld County Colorado. http://www.coloradodar.org/chapters/centennialstate/cemeteries.html
If you have family whose memorials I manage, I will be glad to transfer these to you. If you want to copy any of the photos I have posted, feel free to as long is it is not used for commercial purposes.
"Upon my death I authorize any of my memorials to be transferred to any FAG contributor as they are requested."

"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you."

Thanks, I am just working on documenting the graves at a small cemetery (Aurora IOOF)near me. It started with the call from FindAGrave to spend a day adding photos which led to trying to connect family members, places and dates. I am not related to any of the people in the memorials there. It is a very small cemetery, about 140 graves, and many of the people are related to each other.
I owe a great deal to the people who have posted memorials for my own ancestors that I have been able to locate, so I just hope my work will be of help to someone looking for these people.

There are markers in the area for others named West.

Thank you very much for your note.
I have my dad here for a visit and he has some answers.
According to Mildred Buchholz, John and Caroline died on the same day (8 hours difference), not 2 days apart. Not sure of the cause, but it was a disease.
Sorry, we don't know more. Thank you for your note.

You are welcome.

we are having trouble finding Williams's headstone at this cemetery. There are 2 other cemeteries in Ripon; is there a chance he is at either of these? The managers seem to be unavailable ; maybe vacation
OK, as you can tell I don't check my e-mail very often.
But...finally I came across your suggestion.
How in the world you came across an obituary for somebody buried in Estes Park is beyond me!! All I can say is Good Job To Ya!!!
And listen, whenever you want to suggest an obituary please, please, please do not hesitate. I love it. I just hope you don't mind that I edit out the service information. It's just something I always do. To me it makes it seem more like a person's life story. So, again, I hope you don't mind. You'll see that I am giving you credit. I've seen that a couple of times. It always seemed like the right thing to do.
And again thanks a ton. Keep up the good work.

I looked through you memorial list. I didn't see anyone else I was related to. Thank you for offering.
Thank you so much for the obituary for Lance.
I have looked on Vertin-Munson Funeral Home's web page a few time and could not find it. They just don't go that far back.
Lance was a very special kid. His father, Luther, was the Librarian and, for a while, the head football coach here in Wahpeton when I was in High School. I still see both him and Barb all the time.
I was also a substitute teacher here in town when Lance was still in Middle School. So as you can imagine this Memorial Page is very near and dear to my heart. All the more reason to be so very grateful that you added his obituary.
So, thanks again, your edit means a lot to me.

Frankly, I'm not sure where that came from. The list I used for this cemetery is available here:
I don't see the listing for Brock in question, so I'm going to remove the memorial.

I see Mary and Jim in the store (Econofoods) from time to time.
I'll let them know "what we're up to" and have them keep me informed.
