Proud graduate of Virginia Tech -- go Hokies!
Since almost all of the cemeteries in my home county of Monroe, WV, have already been logged (Matthew Broyles -- you did an OUTSTANDING JOB!), I thought it might be interesting to log some of the cemeteries in the Martinsburg, WV area. Hopefully, someone out there will find this site as interesting, useful, and rewarding in learning more about their ancestry as I have. And who knows -- I might just run across some of my own ancestors in the process. I'm trying to take pictures too -- especially of older headstones, along with those of war veterans.
Feel free to contact me for any corrections/additions to any of the information that I've entered. It would also be nice to hear from anyone who's been able to learn more about their ancestry from a grave that I've entered.

Hello cousin Steve;
I just connected Isabelle Sherwood Vass Daniel Vance, with her son, Homer Vass. I had planned on stopping by the Riverview Cemetery prior to the Weikle/Kirby Family reunion, but my aches and pains and needing to return to Chicago, prevented me from doing such. I had wanted to photograph the various headstones with the Riverview Cemetery.
If perchance you happen to be in the area visiting family, as I don't know when I will be in WV again, could you photograph headstones for the Isabelle Sherwood Vass Daniel Vance, Homer Vass, and the Sherwood's. I don't think that Caroline Wikle Sherwood had a headstone, there was discussion of that back in the 1980's with your Uncle Walton Weikle. He belived that she was buried beside her son, William Daniel Sherwood.
You have done an excellent contribution to Findagrave, as well as cousin Matthew Broyles and his contributions.

Steve I just added pictures to 5443758 & 5443757. Suggest you link them as husband & wife. I assisted Pauline Haga in the research for Asa's veteran marker and she supplied photo. I can barely bring up the etching on Elizabeth's stone in the picture but Pauline is good at cleaning them so they can be read and told me about it.

Thank you Steve. I wish I could link them I have yet to find where they are buried. My 3rd Great Grandmother was David's sister. If I find them I will send you the links. Thanks again!
My husband is a distant cousin of Matthew Broyles thru the Burdettes..Matthew has helped me a lot on our tree.I have been working on our Patton tree Matthew mentioned you took the Tristram Patton photo's at New Lebanon Ct. another memorial has been listed at OLD Lebanon by Tracie Flack so I have asked her to delete her memorials as not to confuse people about their place of burial..do you happen to remember taking the photo.
My next question is I have about 30 photo request for Foglesong.Houchins,Fry relatives at Riverview Ct at Ronceverte,WV.Do you happen to live near there or know anyone that could take the photo's?
I really like your Hee Haw virtual memorial.
My husband Jimi's dad was in the Country music business.His mom was great friends with Minnie Pearl and played tennis often with her at Maryland Farms country club.

Steve, I would like to thank for for taking the pictures of our family- Frank and Kathleen McCormick's tomstones. We appreciate your time and effort. This means so much to us.
They were our great Aunt and Uncle. Also learned from the information about a child that we didn't know they had- Vaughanna (Vaughan on the tombstone). Thank you so very much for this lead. I'll go check for a death certicate on her now. You have made my day. God Bless you. Maggie
