Torrey/Sullivans
I was mistaken in my earlier message: I was so excited to have hit pay dirt for you that I didn't check the names and dates carefully enough. George Torrey was not there, and while there were two Emma Elizabeth Sullivans (One 1869-1870 and one 1831-1904), neither matched the birth and death dates of the Emma Elizabeth you had listed. In addition, there was also an Abby Waldron Sullivan (1863-1934) and Joseph T. Sullivan (1858-1937). All four were on the same face of the monument.

I did not see an individual headstone for Joseph William Torrey, nor did I notice any Sullivans nearby, but I'll go out to that part of the cemetery on the next sunny (and non-snowy) weekend day that I can. Forest Hills is large and incredibly beautiful, and the Mt. Warren Avenue section is particularly lovely.

Best,
Doug

RE: Joseph Torrey
Hi Lois,
I found all of those Torrey's and then some! They were all on the same monument. In addition to the ones you mentioned, I also found Emma Elizabeth Sullivan (1869-1870) and Abby Waldron Sullivan (1863-1934). If you create memorials and photo requests for them, I'll upload all of the new photos I took.

Joseph Torrey
Hi,
I went to Forst Hills Cemetery this afternoon to try to fulfill as many photo requests as I could (there are currently 50+ for this cemetery), but I was disappointed to learn that the office will look up the plot location of two names for free, but charge a prohibitively high fee of $15 for every two names after the first two. I wasn't able to take pictures for you this weekend, but I imagine if you call the Forest Hills Cemetery office during business hours (617.524.0128) or send them an email (info@foresthillscemetery.com)they can give you the plot locations for free over the phone. If you find out the plot location, I'll be happy to photograph the headstone for you.
Best,
Doug
