My name is Isaiah Tadlock. I have been into genealogy for the last several years, and it has led into other fields. I love using this site, and being able to virtually visit graves that otherwise would not be possible for me to see. |
My work here is separated into two parts.
Firstly, I am here to locate family.
Secondly, I am trying to locate the graves of veterans of the 16th Texas Cavalry, C.S.A. of whom my 2x great grandfather was one. As I write this, I have located 96 graves out of nearly 700 men that I have identified and indexed so far. Many more I know are not buried in a cemetery, but in an anonymous and unmarked grave near where they fell.
I would love to hear from any descendants or relatives of these men. You can contact me regarding them here, or at email@example.com.
I keep a blog of my research, for anyone who is interested, which can be found at http://scotknight.org/the-16th-texas-cavalry/
Thanks for listening.

Unable to find any other information about the headstone. It certainly is a very nice (and no doubt expensive) one that must have been erected many years after his death, judging from its excellent condition. But, I am just speculating there.

I don't know what company might have placed that stone for William Fitzhugh. But, I live close to the cemetery so I will take a look at the stone and see if there is any information there. I will let you know what I find out.

I knew about Henry, but Alexander is new to me. Thanks!

We just finished walking the entire cemetery. We did not find your loved one. If you would call the cemetery they will give you the section your loved one is in. If you find out let us know and we will go back over to the cemetery to get the photo. Have a great day.

Thank you... Grandpa Wiseman went through a lot because of the War and it's nice to have him remembered with his Brothers in Arms.
Thanks for all your efforts... People like you have made Find A Grave a significant resource for all Genealogists.

I found your virtual cemetery and discovered my 2nd great grandfather was not listed. I request you add William Henry Wiseman. (Findagrave # 36139100) He suffered a bullet wound to the head and still survived the war. He was buried at the Austin State Hospital Cemetery. His marker clearly shows Co. A, 16th Texas Cavalry. Thank you for your efforts for Find A Grave.

Yes, just send a request using the "Submit a Suggestion" link so that I get both your user number and the memorial number.

If there is a headstone for Elizabeth 111483542 I would appreciate you adding it to her memorial.
