Check out Carl Braatz in Cedar Hill cemetery in Suitland, Md - F.A.G. ID # 96241199 - you will like this fellow a lot...leave some flowers too!

Note: any reference to the city of Washington versus the county of Washington, both of which were used in the early days of the District of Columbia (D.C.) will be omitted on my memorials or any requests to alter them since the residence of the deceased and/or the actual place of death would also have to be known and before 1850 or so. The city was divided into several parts when drawn up and laid out in the 1790s but these distinctions were dropped long before 1850. There is a need for some memorials of an early date to have this but for most others it is not accurate any longer. All are just Washington, D.C.

Have you considered using the Virtual
Cemetery feature that Find A Grave offers?

Fred, thank you again for your work
Fred, I appreciate your work. My intent was to supply bio material that I thought would be of interest to others, who are linking family groups, in addition to posting individual markers. Re-reading my prior note I can see how what I intended to be a positive comment could be misunderstood to be a criticism. It was not a criticism. Best wishes.

It looks from your tote board that you retain management of memorials. So, I posted notes in the flower vases. hilite2222(at)aol.com Contributor (#47207375)

Mary Amanda Mitchell Duvall
Fred,
I am also a volunteer (new) and while getting info on this subject, Memorial # 20 93 76 26 I see your OUTSTANDING pic of her stone at All Hallows Chapel Cem in Davidsonville, MD.

I see 3 photographers tried to get a pic of her husbands stone Joseph I. Duvall MD at the same cem and I assume right next to hers. They are only poor, good, and better. (I assume your aware there is a Duvall Plantation North of 50 on I believe Davidsonville, Road.)(The Davidsonville offramp on 50, just 2nd property on the right).

Now I am going to attempt to capture Mary's fathers stone (if I can locate it) JOHN MITCHELL 1788-1862 at a long defunct cem MITCHELL FAMILY CEMETERY in my town of Bowie, MD.

I can't help but wonder what your SECRET to such a great pic is. Such great color. I hope it's not expensive gear. Teena Phillips

Helen T. James Payne
Fred,

First, thanks for all your work for Find A Grave. You have put up a truly awesome number of memorials and photographs.

Next, thanks for your comment today regarding the memorial for Helen T. James Payne (#142853917). Your note said:

"Did you happen to notice her initial says 'J.' not 'T.'"

Inspired by your note I researched her further. I found one Census record and several family trees on Ancestry that all gave her middle initial as T, and happily one of those family trees -- one maintained by a member of the Payne family -- spelled out her middle name as Thomas. So, I have modified the memorial record to show her full name as Helen Thomas James Payne.

If you have any further information about this person that would improve her memorial record, please send it along. I welcome edits to any of the memorials I have created.

Regards,
David Hunsberger, Arlington, VA
