Nelson Griffith
Please know that I could not get a good close up of Nelson's grave marker. The inscription is covered with black algae and the lighting and shadows hampered my work. I did confirm that pertinent information is correct on the memorial. The marker is about 7 feet tall in the shape of a tree trunk, and sits under the shade of a large and dense cypress tree. It is surrounded by poison ivy and it has climbed to the top of the monument making the stone look like a tree out of a Harry Potter movie!! His wife is on the same marker. A son David Kimpy is buried to the left.

Would you happen to have a map of Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park? I can't seem to find one on-line. If have had one I could show you the general area he's in. --- He's not too far from Karen Carpenter, and even closer to Artie Shaw. --- He's pretty close to the curb, as I parked my car, and started to walk towards Karen's mausoleum, when I looked down and he caught my eye. His name sounded familiar, but I couldn't remember who he was, and that's why I didn't make a notation of his location...
