Bio

I have been working on my family genealogy for about 40 years and have visited many grave sites. Glad to help others when I can, and have taken many photos in my area by request.

My family are mostly from the New England area. I now live in North Carolina, so I appreciate all those who have taken pictures of my ancestors up North. Thanks to all the volunteers who spend countless hours wandering through cemeteries to help us find the connections to our past.

I believe memorials should be managed by people who are related, if possible. They are then able to add family photos, and usually have access to correct dates or further information. Gravestones are not just a picture to take, they represent a person who someone loved and mourned. They are a part of someone's family history.
I have researched and added many memorials of people from local cemeteries. I don't believe in "collecting" memorials for numbers, so I pass them on to Findagrave to manage, and to those who enjoy management. I manage those with whom I am related. I get excited to be able to help others discover clues to their roots.

"We are the chosen. In each family, there is one (maybe two) who seems called to find the ancestors, to put flesh on their bones and make them alive again, to tell the family story and feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe."

"Done! Everyone in the family tree has been found and everything is perfectly organized, including the pictures," said no genealogist... ever. :)

Researching Family Names: Davis, Packer, Grover, Munroe; Dunn, Curtis, Tourjee, May, Schmidt
