Hi Y'all. I'm a Central Pennsylvania native living in Eastern Georgia. I'm tracking down and documenting family names including Daugherty, Sprunger, Amstutz, Updegraff (and its variations Updegrave, Uptagrafft, Updegrove, etc.). I'm also interested in family names Antes, Bixler, Bressler, Coffee, Ferree, Gillinger, Habegger, Herr, Kendig, Logan, Pennington, Rothlischberger, Williams. |
I'm part of the great Pennsylvania melting pot, a descendant of Scotch-Irish, Swiss Mennonite, French Huguenots, Moravians, English, German, and Welsh ancestors. The "huddled masses yearning to breathe free."
I'm also looking for my wife's family including Devaney, Hayman, Holley, Leffler, Ricketson, Robertson, Seiter, Street, Tuemler, Williams.
I'm trying to photograph as much as possible, and create an accurate, historical record. I'll be glad to transfer non-family members. I've enjoyed getting to know my extended family members through Findagrave.
Please visit my famous relatives:

"A German Hero of the Colonial Times of Pennsylvania" and "On The Frontier with Colonel Antes" both about Henry Antes and I have a small 1879 book on Faulkner's Swamp which tells how "Washington and his staff quartered under the friendly roof (of Antes Fort)"

I uploaded the pic to both memorials. I just checked and it is on George's site.

My ancestry then goes on to William Antes 1731-1810 >William Antes 1777-1841> William Antes 1801-1884>Henry Taylor Antes 1837-1899 and I have letters from 1830 through the turn of the century and paintings, carvings, daguerrotypes etc

Yes, my line goes back to Baron Von Blume who changed his name to the corresponding German "Antes" because of the years of religious persecution. They are the Antes from Faulkner's Swamp and there are at least two books by Edwin McMinn on their lives....

Sorry Bill but I don't know anything about their

Yes we are cousins! I am assuming that you are related through my great-Aunt Agnes
I am the granddaughter of Gordon and Lois(Burkholder)Lehman. My Dad was their eldest son, Robert Dean Lehman.
My Aunt, Nancy Lehman King (my Dad's sister), still lives in Wooster, OH and she is the family expert on the Lehman(n)/Burkholder genealogy. In 2014 she took the Burkholder "first cousins" on a local cemetery tour.
I have photos of David and Christina(Sprunger)Lehman on my family tree on Ancestry.com "Lay/Lehman Family Tree (Preferred Tree)", if you are interested.
I remember going to the David O. Lehman annual family reunion when I was a child. Great Uncle Joel Lehman used to yodel for us! We also said "grace" in Swiss German.
Please contact me directly if you have any questions or corrections.

I saw where you left some information on Daisy Uptagrafft for FindaGrave. You mentioned Daisy was the daughter of John and Clemmie Gaskin. Do you know anything else about John Gaskin such as middle name, parents, birth or death date?
I am interested in exchanging information on the Uptagraffts.
